Feeling a bit camera shy

Since 1999 Kenny Mehler has garnered the attention of thousands of college students as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Fivewise. The band toured constantly up and down the East Coast captivating the university scene. Releasing three albums and averaging over 250 shows a year, the way that the music spread was amazing without the benefit of radio. Kenny was the writer and lyricist for the band that sold over 25,000 units independently. He now takes that style and knowledge with him for his debut release due out April 2007 Mehler's blend of folk, soul and rock are the chief ingredients in his music which comes across best live, with his energetic personality and expression. Kenny is a native of Connecticut, raised right outside Hartford. He has been playing guitar and singing since he was a small boy. Kenny played through out high school and college, where he attended James Madison University. While attending JMU, he formed the Groove Holmes Band which later became Fivewise. Music has Always been a part of his life for as long as he can remember. After the summer of 2005, Fivewise took a break from touring and Kenny found himself in a small town called Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The band was on hiatus, so he decided to stay for awhile and write what is now the new KMB album. After eight months and two hurricanes in the Yucatan, Kenny is now armed with some of his best material and a brand new approach to his music career. This new record which has plenty of anticipation already, is said to be his best work to date and has the potential to really push him into the spotlight.
