Bio
Born in Detroit, MI. Ken Miller taught himself to play bass and congas at around eleven years old. In the mid 70's, Ken met a guitar player named Gregory McKenzie and they formed a group named "Oneness". "Oneness" emulated Earth Wind and Fire and sent them an original demo and received the "thank's but no thank's" reply. One year later they received a call asking why another demo was not sent but by then the group had dissolved. Greg and Ken still continued to write together.
In 1983, Ken went into the military where he stayed fifteen years. This was a blessing and curse at the same time. The military allowed him to purchase musical equipment, learn to play keyboards and learn 4 track recording but the constant travel didn't allow him to stay in one place long enough to find serious musicians and jell with them. So he decided to play and record everything himself.
Ken left the military in 1998 and continued to write. In 2000 he moved to Stockton, CA. He started taking classes with Berkley Music College online. In California he met bassist extrodinaire David Mayfield - bassist for "Debarge", Douglas Smith - The "Commodores" keyboardist of years and Johnny Mezquite - Lead guitarist for "Latin Magic" and the mixture proved quite rewarding. He recruited them for the "Ken Miller" project. Ken didn't release the music because he felt it wasn't quite right yet.
During this time, Ken bassed a CD with the group "Joyride" on the "We Come in Peace" CD.
