Kenny Scharlatt

Back in the early 2000's, if you would have traveled to Long Island, NY and talked to a high school student by the name of Kenny Scharlatt, you wouldn't get the impression that he would ever be a country music recording artist.  In fact, you would have never heard him sing a note of any genre of music at all... While he was a big music fan and listened to a lot of the pop and rap music of that time period, Kenny just wasn't a singer.  Not in the car... not in the shower... nowhere.

Fast forward a few years, while attending Lock Haven University, Kenny's roommate was a country music fan, specifically classic country.  And being from a place that country music wasn't popular, it took a while for some of the legendary singers to make an impression on Kenny.  Artists like Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Jones, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Keith Whitley, Randy Travis... the list can go on and on.  But finally, the sounds of these great legends started making their way into Kenny's own music playlists.  But Kenny still had no desire to be a singer... until...

While on a family cruise, Kenny was bored one night and decided to take a walk around the ship.  After leaving the casino (any shocker there?), Kenny was walking through the halls and heard some music.  Thinking it was a stage production, Kenny walked in to check out what was going on and catch the show.  What Kenny didn't realize is that he didn't walk into a stage show... he walked into the packed karaoke bar.   But he wasn't a singer... or was he?

That night on that ship changed Kenny's life.  After singing a few country songs, Kenny was hooked.  A college kid in his early 20's who had never sang a note in his life had found his passion.  10+ years and 2 album releases later, Kenny still has that love for the stage.  Put a microphone in his hand, and Kenny will entertain an audience for hours... simply because he loves the smiles and joy that it brings to the fans.  Kenny has always said that "music is the one thing that can make people forget about the daily struggles of life and help bring people out of the darkest moments".

So Kenny would like to invite you to let go of life for a few hours and listen to his music or stop by one of his shows.  The kid from Long Island, NY is now one of the regions most requested performing artists... not bad for somebody that never sang a note until about 10 years ago!
