Bio

Kenny Camacho (Cä mäch o) is a powerful magnetic Adult Contemporary/Vocal Pop performer and prolific songwriter/producer. He has been hailed as the complete package with spine-tingling vocal chops, a voice so beautiful it takes your breath away, and songs so real and true they capture the heart. Since joining Sophisticated Sounds Entertainment, Kenny's music is reaching a broader audience, with his latest CD, "Long and Overdue" receiving tremendous support on commercial radio.

Kenny is the 2003 New York Idol winner, a two-month contest that took place live on the FOX TV Network. Since winning that exclusive title Kenny has performed during half time of a New Jersey Nets game and has performed at the world famous Madison Square Garden.

Kenny won the 2003 Pop Top Achievement Award for his performance at the 2003 New York International Music Festival at the World famous Madison Square Garden.

Kenny has performed in nearly all type of venues and events, ranging from club gigs to festivals and concerts. His performance varies depending on the nature of the event. However, one thing is consistent--audiences are overwhelmed by his talent and charisma. Kenny has a tremendous connection with the audience. Every performance leaves audiences wanting more.

Performing is the apple of Kenny's work. "There is no better high than performing in front of an audience and witnessing firsthand their response." Kenny is accustomed to having audiences standing up and dancing to his performances, yet his latest album incorporates many love songs suitable for a sit-down theatre. His performances are versatile, bringing in instrumental accompaniment or singing along with tracks.

Kenny has collaborated with other artists, including Tony Moran (hit single "Running" in 1992). Kenny is also a prolific songwriter, producer, entertainer, showman, and he has even modeled. As an individual, Kenny is a role model to men and not surprisingly, an object of affection by women.

“My first love has always been music, it’s in my heart and soul." Kenny was born into a family of musicians in the Bronx, New York, where he lived with his mother and his four brothers and sister. It was at the age of four when Kenny started singing. In 1984, his family moved to the Hudson Valley, and it was there that Kenny was exposed to different styles and genres of music. While attending grade school, he played the drums in an award-winning band and performed with the schools elite singing group. Even at this age Kenny knew how to wow an audience. At this point, Kenny discovered his true passion for music and performing, and he seized every opportunity to develop his talents.

In the early 90’s, Kenny performed at local nightclubs along side some of the industries largest names. Soon after, Kenny received his first big break when he signed to Atlantic Records to record a club track as part of a group called, “LaMores,” which was comprised of Kenny and Tony Moran. The group recorded their debut single “Running.” Within the first two weeks of release, “Running” went to number one in many different markets.

Today Kenny lives his dream of being a recording artist and a businessman. Part owner of Up In Da Sticks, a production company and digital studio. Kenny's approach to music is, “Music should move you, take you to a far off place, it should be able to change your mood or feelings, make you happy or sad. It’s really therapy for your mind when you feel a little down and out.”

Kenny is compared to artist such as Enrique Iglesias, Seal, Mark Anthony and Lenny Kravitz. It's no wonder why reviewers and critics claim Kenny has what it takes to be the American star.
