Kenny McCorvey

Kenny McCorvey was born and raised in Akron,Ohio. The 'Rubber City' is well known for producing many great performers such as James Ingram, Howard Hewitt, Chrissie Hynde and The Black Keys.

At an early age, Kenny discovered a love for music, playing the piano by ear, learning songs from tv shows. In fact, his first performance was in a 6th grade talent show, performing Linus & Lucy, from A Charlie Brown Christmas. He then realized that music would be his calling!

During junior high school, Kenny studied Classical music and played Gospel and Jazz in various groups and churches. This culminated with performing with The Ultimate Choice Band along with gifted musicians: Bobby Wood-drums and Ed Glenn-lead guitar. These musicians greatly influenced Kenny's musical style and fueled his desire to write.

After graduating from high school, Kenny was awarded a musical scholarship.Kenny earned a Bachelor and Master's Degree from the University of Akron. This opportunity of education prepared Kenny for a wonderful, 30 year teaching career. Kenny was privileged to share his love of music to many young people and inspire.

Along with live concert performances, Kenny continues to share his love of music with churches, nursing homes and anywhere someone can be encouraged. He has never forgotten how music moved him at an early age. Music truly is a gift from God!

In Kenny's music, you can hear many influences including his childhood idol-Ramsey Lewis, traditional Gospel Music and the sounds of nature. Each song is a sensitive,personal expression. His music celebrates the blessings of life!
