"Straight forward rock, with pop reggae undertones,? perfectly describes Kenny Mehler's debut album, Now. Kenny's new album will be released on Subciety/Universal Records in early August. Writing most of the songs featured on Now in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, gave Kenny's music a crisp warm sound and feel that mimics his sunny surroundings. The album incorporates rock, blues, and a fun reggae texture that is ready to surf the radio waves from the first note. Taking cues from Jack Johnson, Rob Thomas, and fellow Connecticut native John Mayer, Now is filled to the brim with energetic guitar riffs, catchy choruses, and melodic harmonies.
You will not be disappointed with this album! A must have.

Kenny Mehler’s debut solo album “Now” has an ambitious sound and feel that combines pop, rock, and reggae merged with a dab of blues and a hint of country. There is a song on this album for each kind of listener in almost every type of musical genre. “Now” is chock-full of memorable hooks, “8th and 10” and “Moses Brown”, which will fasten to your brain and have you singing at work, in the car, or even the grocery store. Melodic guitar solos and soulful harmonies make “Now” more then just slick party songs with catchy lyrics for college kids. There is real feeling behind much of this album, which is best represented in the emotional ballads “Fall Down” and “ ‘til We Meet Again”. The song “Carry Me” has four different changes that tie together seamlessly, bringing the song to life and showing true musicianship. Track number three, “R & R”, has a funky pop-hop reggae texture that settles itself somewhere between Jack Johnson or G Love. All of this and Kenny still found time to toss in a driving straightforward rock song aptly named “Drive”. I must admit, I enjoyed Kenny’s first effort and would recommend that everyone give “Now” a listen. Chances are you’ll find something altogether new but still comforting and familiar like that old pair of jeans that you just can’t bring yourself to part with. - Online Review
