"Local Country Musician Preparing for Major TV Singing Show Audition"

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa – Television singing competitions are no stranger to American society. With shows like American Idol, The X-Factor and America’s Got Talent, viewers have plenty of chances to watch and vote for America’s next singing superstars. And those that are hopeful to gain that title are heading to the media and entertainment capital of the world this weekend for their chance at stardom. NBC’s hit singing show, The Voice, is holding open casting call auditions for their 3rd season at the Javits Center in New York City this weekend.

Kenny Scharlatt, a local country musician, is one of those hopefuls that is looking to make an impact. Scharlatt will audition for the show’s production staff on Saturday morning. “I’m really looking forward to not just auditioning, but I’m really excited to go to New York and put on a show. Yes, the show is called “The Voice”, and I am confident in my vocal abilities. But these kind of competitions also look for an all around entertainer. You have to be able to give the fans a full performance, and that’s what I plan to do!”

The singer is also taking a few hundred people along for the ride. No they won’t be there physically, but they’ll be able to follow Kenny’s progress with the help of social media. “I have to be honest. I have a lot of unbelievable people and fans behind me and supporting my music career. It because of them that I get to perform in front a packed house a few nights a week. They mean the world to me, and this is a way that I can give back to them. Fans can track my audition by logging onto my official facebook page or following my posts on my Twitter account. I’ll be posting constantly throughout the day of my audition”

As for the songs that Kenny is planning on using for his audition, what’s he plan on singing? “For the 1st round of the audition process, we were told to have 2 or 3 songs ready. My voice fits a country ballad really well, so I’m going in with Justin Moore’s “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” as my primary song. The song is about wishing you could go back and see that person in Heaven just one more time, and that song really hits home for me. I’ve lost several close friends and family members that believed in me and my music career. I really feel that this song is a way for me to say thank you to them for believing in me and continuing to watch over me and guide me on the path to success. After that, we’re going to get people on their feet, because I’m getting ready to rock the house with “My Kinda Party”, which is originally by Jason Aldean. I’ll finish it up with a love song about getting that special somebody back to the house for a little romance.. that song is “Gettin’ You Home” by Mr. Chris Young, who is one of my biggest musical influences!”

Whatever the outcome may be, Kenny has some big things planned for the near future, as he continues to build his band and create his own sound. “I love just getting out there and performing for the best people in the world, my fans. I’ll continue to go out every night and put on a show that they’re proud of, and as a musician, that’s all I could ever ask for!”

"Local Country Singer set to release debut CD at Release Party"

Local Country Singer set to release debut CD at Release Party
August 17, 2011 (Marshalls Creek, PA) – When a musician wants to get their music heard in this digital age, they have numerous resources at their disposal. One of the methods that has been passed down from generation to generation, and still proves to be vital to the success of an album, is a release party.
Local country music artist, Kenny Scharlatt, is gearing up for the one of the major highlights of his young music career. On Sunday night, September 18th, Sticks N Stones Bar & Grill in Marshalls Creek, PA will host a night of music, food, fun and friends at the official CD release party for Scharlatt’s debut album, “Country Covers”. The event is slated for a 7pm start time.
“This CD has been a long time coming”, says an elated Scharlatt. “While this album consists entirely of country music cover songs, each one was hand chosen by me because it had some kind of major impact in my life. The songs range from a catchy, up tempo love song, such as “Honey Bee”, to the darkest days of your life when you lose a loved one, but remember that you have to live on, which is the case with the always popular “Live Like You Were Dyin’.”
While the budding country star has written original material, he believes that this is the time to show his talent behind the microphone, by recording proven country music hits. “While I love to write my own songs, my passion, the thing I live and breathe for, is being in front of a live audience, pouring my heart and soul into a set of songs that they have come to know and love. Do I plan to record my own material soon? The answer to that is a resounding “YES”. But for this album, I’m very pleased to be given the opportunity to cover these proven country hits.”
“Country Covers” contains ten of those country hits, including three duets. “I brought in a close friend and an incredible country vocalist, Gina Giordano. She really helped me bring another element to this album that I wouldn’t have been able to do by myself. Gina and I have sung together for years. We know each others vocal abilities, what each other can and cannot do behind the microphone, and we use that to bring out the best in each other. This album is, without a doubt, much more complete with her voice joining mine on three tracks.”
“This night, the night that I release my debut CD, is a night that I will remember for the rest of my life. I’m incredibly satisfied with the way this album came out, and I know people that come to the party will be very impressed with the production. I’m looking forward to a great night with my fans, friends and family, all of whom, I owe every thank you possible. Without their continued love and support, I would not be able to follow my dream of doing what I love to do.”

Bio

The burn and passion that I have for country music is unstoppable! Being influenced by classic country crooners such as George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks and Johnny Cash, I also know how to throw some of the rockin' new style country into my shows (Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton and Toby Keith)

In 2011, I released my debut album, entitled "Country Covers". This CD consisted of 10 of country music's mega hits from the past decade. I am really happy with the way this CD came out, and would love for y'all to hear it! You can order the physical CD or the mp3 downloadable version from my website!

Right now, I am concentrating on writing material, and will be going back into the studio shortly to record my first ALL ORIGINAL CD. That album, which is currently being scheduled for a middle of 2013 release date, will be the 1st real look into my future as a singer/songwriter.

I know that my fans spend their hard earned money to come out and see me perform and get away from life for a while, so I always try my hardest to give y'all a great show! Be sure to check out my calendar to stay up to date with all of my upcoming shows, meet & greets and more!

Thanks again for the support y'all! I'll see ya out on the road soon!
