Kensi es un grupo de rock alternativo que surge tras pasar varios años su líder en California tocando en diferentes grupos, algo que queda muy latente en su música. Empieza a componer sus propias canciones, pero ya de vuelta en Madrid, en 2003, reactiva la banda para dar forma a un primer EP y en 2006, Hold My Hand, su primer LP.
Cuando se escucha de primeras, es imposible no pensar en los clarísimos referentes del rock alternativo americano de los 90 y de principios de la década pasada. Guitarras muy presentes, en ocasiones con bastante distorsión, referencias al surf, una buena voz que se deja fluir y melodías muy marcadas.
La producción está muy trabajada y los detalles cuidadísimos, haciendo que todo este en su sitio y sea efectivo. De hecho uno de los puntos fuertes del disco es que no hay bajones, manteniéndose en todo momento en un buen nivel.

Bio
KENSI was formed in La Jolla, California. While living there, the leader of the band decided to form a music group. They wrote during frenzied rehearsal sessions after long surfing outings.
When they returned back to Europe these ideas started to take their definitive shape. They released one EP and after some time, the band put together the rest of the album tracks. In 2009, they completed their debut album, Hold My Hand.
At the beginning of 2012, the band has released their second album, Free Spirit.
The songs combine the North American indie/alternative sound with a hint of English 80’s poprock and the New wave movement, melding the dark and the romantic with distortion.
