Bio

Born in the infamous city of Gary, IN, Ken has always had his ear to some of the most creative and influential music. He grew up listening to John Coltrane, Miles Davis, the Temptations, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, and some of his favorite emcees ranging from Rakim, KRS-One, Slick Rick, Chuck D, C.L. Smooth and others. He first got his inspiration to pick up a pen from being around his mother, who was an English teacher. Then it was his oldest sister who was the person to encourage him to do hip-hop. Ken has always been a person to try new things found ways to speak through his music by being involved with the situations of the streets. Daily he end the day with entries of what he learned and seen in the streets. Soon this became another influence for Ken. His career did not start until he recorded his first cd, which was in 1998 under the independent label based in Gary titled Gate Keeperz Records. Then after a few months Ken decided to leave them and do a few projects with long time friends and group members Rec and Quon Logic. These projects up until this date are called some of Ken's best work cause of the music's uniqueness and clever wordplay and street wise lyrics. At that time Ken went under the alias of "Braveheart" and the group (which featured three other members as well as Rec) was called "The Sins of Men". The group has never recorded a full album but do have about six songs under the name of "The Sins of Men" and three mixtapes as The Grhyme (which is the group's current name). From 1998 to 2004, Ken has 2 unreleased projects and 3 never to be released projects, 1 defunct project, and 7 mixtapes that he is either featured on or that are his. Ken is currently working on his long-awaited debut album titled, "The Introduction Of...", which will be released October of this year. The album will feature some of the finest production the Beat Society has to offer and ex-Grhyme member Rec. With guest appearances from Quon Logic, Omega, Rock, Jazz Cazz and a special suprise guest.
