"Startime"

Brooklyn-born Kered (Derek Workman), a man with the heated falsetto and strong natural tenor, has lots of sweet talk and pillow talk for the ladies on this debut album (released via Atlanta's new L'Dar Records, for which he is co-vice president). The well-produced 11-song effort (plus 3 interludes and the bonus track "Freak Out") is enjoyable through and through with radio-friendly cuts like the first single "I Don't Mind," the sweet mid-tempo "All I Need Is You" and the persuasive "Sunshine". Close attention will be made, however, to naughtier material such as the club-ready "Drop Dat" and the more boudoir-bound "Bump In The Night," "Addicted" and "Forbidden Love". - The Urban Network

"Our Point of Review"

One part Donnel Jones, one part Gerald Levert, this ATLien's CD is all good coming from the speakers during your next bedroom romp.
Rating: B - Conscious

"Beats"

Kered's mid-90ish seductive grooves should be able to garner some sort of attention from ladies who will throw their panties on stage at the drop of a high note. The production doesn't stretch beyond the use of the keyboard but it's adequate for Kered's bedroom ballads.

"What's the word?"

You simply could never be prepared for the amazing journey you will go on with Brooklyn native Kered's L'Dar Records debut album, "All My Love". A track-after-track combination of soulful beats and lyrics that are unapologetically raw, this cutting-edge creation is one that only a musical genius could pull off. For Kered, music is an inescapable love embedded deeply within. Like many of R&B's greats Kered first explored his unparalleled vocal talent as a young child in church. Born into a family of singers, music was more than a passion. It was a way of life.
Kered, who now lives in Atlanta, will be doing selective dates across the country to promote his CD and is proud to bear the "neo-soul" banner! He often appears at music biz seminars and tells Word Up!, "I think all young, aspiring artists should stay in school so they have something to fall back on". And about being a newcomer in the musci game in general, Kered remarks, "It is very time consuming and it is not all glamour and glitter. It is hard work. I am going to do what I have to do. 'Nuff said? Keep up the positive attitude, K!

Bio

For Kered, Brooklyn born and raised, music is an inescapable love embedded deeply within. Like many R&B greats, Kered first explored his unparalleled vocal talent as a young child in church. By the time he reached his early teens, Kered was skillfully using his musical prowess to coax girls into liking him. After attempts to pursue his music as a member of several different groups, Kered is fearlessly taking center stage as a solo performer. A multi-talented artist, he writes most of his own lyrics. Like his musical influences such as Donny Hathaway, Philip Bailey, Luther Vandross, and Will Downing, Kered carefully crafts his songs to be undiscriminating and timeless.
