"Leading people into worship takes talent"

Leading people into worship takes talent, a true love for God and an ability to communicate with God's people, but every once in a while someone comes along that has all those qualities and more. Kermit Easterling and his worship team are truly gifted in leading God's people to worship. This groups musical ability is of professional quality and is only out shined by their enthusiastic love for God. I highly recommended Kermit and his band for your worship service. You will be ushered into the presence of God.
- Dr. Mark Martin

"Lost & Found"

Kermit is a lost man, but a lost man in the best place possible, the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He lives the life of the lyrics he sings:
I wanna be…
I wanna be lost in you oh Lord
I wanna be lost in the reckless abandon of you
Which means, obviously, that he is not lost, he is found! And in his music he has found a gifting and calling. - Chris Carpenter - Chapter 1

"One of a Kind"

"Residing in Alcoa, Tennessee, Kermit Easterling IS his band. Singing to entertain and glorify God, Kermit is like no other. He has accomplished more musically than most, but he does it for the love of God and the love of music, not for fame. Most would have to agree that there's nothing music-wise that the Frog cant do. Through the busy schedule of church a good majority of the week, his day job(s), and chauffeuring the youth group around, he still finds time to write amazing music and to be an astounding husband, friend, youth leader, and much more. God, life's twists and turns, his emotions, and the spare bedroom in his house helped create his album Songs From the Spare Room (which you can buy, along with other merch, at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/kermit). Though there is only one album out, Kermit has enough material to write loads more, but time IS a concept! To get a little taste of awesome, the songs on this Myspace, at his official website-http://www.kermiteasterling.com/, and on the CDbaby site are up for your listening pleasure. So press play, get addicted, and admit that Kermit is a one of a kind genius. If you'd like to meet the man himself to get the full experience, you can oftentimes find him (or not, he blends) the Maryville/Alcoa area wearing various costumes running around Crossroads, playing shows, or doing random stuff usually pertaining to serving God and the community. Kermit Easterling is one of a kind- there's no better way to sum it up. "
- Steph Cabello - Wanted

"The Next Chris Tomlin"

I heard Kermit live for the first time last night. He was awesome. God has truly gifted him, I was amazed to know he wrote all his songs. I bought the Cd of the music he played and listened to that on the way home. EXCELLENT!! I'm thinking he'll be the next Chris Tomlin, only better. - CD Baby Review - Christi Smoak

"Worship @ Crossroads"

It is finally here! The long awaited worship album from Kermit Easterling, “Worship @ Crossroads”.

The CD contains eleven catchy original new songs recorded at a live night of worship at Crossroads Community Church in Maryville, Tennessee. The album begins with a word of prayer and then dives into the upbeat “The Great I Am” which makes you want to jump up and down while focusing on the greatness of God. The album keeps things hopping with “I Wanna Be” and “Swept Away” which talk about being lost in the wonder of God. “Song of Praise” is a simple song encouraging the listener to lift up their hands and voices in praise.

The album switches focus a bit with “Lay It Down”, a piano driven ballad, encouraging the listener to bring their burdens to the foot of the cross. “Grace” is a very personal song dealing with our daily struggles against sin and the forgiveness that comes by God’s grace. The song pulls inspiration from Paul in Romans 7:15 where he says, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” The song also contains, in the bridge, a rendetion of the classic, “Amazing Grace”.

“Hallelujah, Praise the King” is a song true to its title - pure and simple worship of God at its finest. “I Will Praise” pays tribute to the classic “It Is Well with My Soul”. It addresses the fact that worship is not about us, but about God. There are times when life is hard and it is not easy to worship, but that does not excuse us. We are called to lift our voices high, even when we might not feel like it. The song “Shine in Me” recognizes the fact that God is the light of the world. It is a prayer that God’s light might shine in our lives for the whole world to see.

Psalm 95 tells us, “Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.”, and that is just what the song “Come Let Us Worship” focuses on. It encourages us to kneel before our Maker in praise and to come with thanksgiving before our God. The album ends with the energetic, “Sing Praise Songs to God”. This song really gets the blood pumping. No one said that worship has to be quiet; this song gives a call to shout at the top of your lungs and to raise the roof for our God. This is a fitting ending for this noteworthy release from Kermit Easterling, who encourages us to worship God in all things.

If you have not experienced the magic from a time of worship with Kermit I highly recommend that you do. This guy is truly gifted and promises big things to come. So pick up a copy of this album and do not forget to get one for all your friends too! “Worship @ Crossroads” is an album that begs to be heard! - KFrog Music

-Kermit-

Kermit Easterling invades audiences with his naked pursuit of life’s unanswerable questions and darkest secrets. He writes on ecstatic love, spiraling depression, brokenness, hope, humor, loss, and the unexplainable, life changing power of Grace.

Kermit is a singer/songwriter who presently calls Alcoa, Tennessee his home. Born and raised in the sunshine state of Florida, it was there that his musical journey began. Starting with piano, bassoon, and drums, he learned to explore a variety of instruments and styles. Kermit eventually discovered the guitar, which helped launch his songwriting career with its ever evolving sound and portability. He has since played all over the United States and even as far as Northern Ireland and Puerto Rico. He even spent time in the military, overseas in Kosovo, with guitar in hand.

Predominantly acoustic, Kermit’s music is a well blended mix of folk, rock, worship and more.

-Kevin Harris-

Along with Kevin’s hope in Jesus, comes also his hope that when he gets to go to be with Christ for eternity, there would also be a guitar waiting for him. Kevin can’t get enough of playing and singing for and about his Lord and Savior. An incredible talent and leader, Kevin Harris has led worship in many different venues in the East Tennessee area.

Kevin was born, raised, and lives with his wife, Lindsay, in Maryville, Tennessee. Picking up the guitar in his teen years, the natural ability to play came easy. His ability to lead a crowd of people, young to old, into praising Christ, is an obvious gift from God. Playing and singing with this band is an incredible complement for Kermit.

-Lonnie Carver-

Lonnie is a native of Blount County. Born in Maryville Tennessee in 1953 and raised in Lakemont. He and his son Alex and daughter Emma live in Maryville. Also living in Maryville is Lonnie’s oldest daughter Sara along with her husband and their two children.

Lonnie has been a musician/entertainer for nearly 42 years. Traveling the country or working close to home in the music/entertainment industry has given him a unique perspective on the world and its inhabitants. In Spring of 2006 God gave him a conviction to leave the secular music industry and devote his talents to serving Him in whatever way He desires. Along with playing in the Kermit Easterling Band, Lonnie is also the worship leader at Tellico Lake Church in Vonore, Tennessee. It is his goal to glorify Our Savior with contemporary as well as traditional praise and worship music and to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever and whenever possible.

-Jeff Roller_

"Jeff is a master on the bass guitar. Whether thumping on his custom 5-string fretless, his Rickenbacker, or any one of his numerous other axes, he powerfully connects his big heart and his well oiled craft with his passion to bring glory to God and his Lord Jesus Christ. Jeff has faithfully and sacrificially used his gift to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus in many venues for over two decades.

Jeff is married to his beautiful wife Laurel and lives in Maryville, TN. He is a man of God that deeply loves and nurtures his wife. He has weathered many storms and has emerged with a deeper trust and reliance on his Lord and Savior Jesus. Ask him where his hope is found and be prepared to hear his story of redemption and of the God that has so relentlessly pursued him. " Keith Davis, Elder R.O.C.C.

Jeff gives all his thanks and gives all the glory to Christ his Redeemer. Jeff has three children, his oldest son Jeff is with the USMC serving his country in Iraq, his daughter Amanda is in medical school training to become a nurse, and his daughter Katy is an honors student in high school pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.
