"Young Rival"

"Oscillate is a dynamic, powerful and quite original song cycle...This latest disc is neosymphonic in its ability to build themes and as an outfit...it stands out as some of the most musical of the recent local electronic experimenters, melding classical elements with his shoegaze and ambient type influences."

Bio

Formed in 2005, Kerosene Daydream creates music that is both ecstatic and sobering – cutting away superfluous elements to focus on a sound that is all-enveloping and saturated with emotional intensity. One can hear the influences of minimalist composers in the simple patterns of strings, bells and piano notes, layered with reverberating guitars that recall the shoegazing legacy of Slowdive, Godspeed, Sigur Ros, et al.

But Kerosene Daydream combines these influences to create sonic signature that is genuinely unique – music that draws one into the weight and gravity of the present and sings of beauty and hope in the midst of despair.

Having released one EP, The Unbearable Weight of Water(2005), Kerosene Daydream is now performing around the Toronto area and
is about to release a full-length album, entitled Oscillate. Based on this new material they were chosen to NXNE's "stand-by list" in June 2007.
