December 2008 - Songs to God
Produced by Kerri Lee Smith and Marc Frigo
Engineered by Marc Frigo

Did you ever have a dream that was right in front of you ready to be realized and you had to lay it down?
Nine years later Kerri Lee Smith released her debut album and it was certainly worth the wait. After several years off from performing, Kerri’s husband encouraged her to enter a country music singing competition during the summer of 2007. She easily won over the local crowd and did well at the state competition. Although she didn’t win, it lit something inside of her that had been asleep for many years.
This new energy and confidence started to come out on Sunday mornings with her worship band. Several weeks later someone in the congregation approached Kerri and said “God told me to give you whatever money you need to get you in the studio.” Overwhelmed, Kerri accepted this gentleman’s check and immediately started recording the songs that you hear on her album, “Songs to God.” The CD was released in December 2008.
Kerri’s performances include a few songs from her first album, but mostly tend toward newer songs she’s written in the Americana/Folk vein. Her sense of humor shines through in songs like “Dog Shake that Squirrel” and “Peas on Earth” but she can also evoke deep emotion and a tangible sense of peace with songs such as “Psalm 23” and “I Wake up Dreaming.”
Kerri Lee Smith is a singer/songwriter based in State College, PA.
