Kerry Lauder

At age 19, Kerry had an epiphany while listening to Sinead O’Connor. She thought to herself, “I can do that,” and immediately purchased her first guitar at Goodwill for $5.00. As Kerry was teaching herself guitar chords she found herself in the middle of a Musical Revolution from the Pacific Northwest and was infected by live music while seeing early shows of Nirvana, Hammerbox and the Gits. She attended Evergreen State College to study psychology, but after a disagreement with a faculty member she found herself auditioning for music classes. Being reminded of her deep love of music that was cultivated in church and performing in the local NW Girlchoir, Kerry decided to “Go For” what she had known was her career path. She delved into the music program and wrote her first song as an assignment, which sparked her love of performing. Since graduating college she has gone from singing in cover bands, to writing her own material to fronting her own touring band. She has become a remarkable songwriter and guitar player. When combined with her God-given voice and tenacity for success, the dream of singing her music for the world can only be a heartbeat away.
