Rochester, NY based group featuring a majority of music teachers and performers. Scott Dawson, the founder, leader and main songwriter grew up under his brother's influence of Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears and usually includes at least one song of theirs in all their shows. Acknowledging his more recent love of Tower of Power, he now writes with a bari sax in mind instead of a trombone. Understanding that music is joy (and all emotions) personified, Scott and Kerygma get the audience involved on stage and off, using infectious rhythms and meaningful lyrics to create a memorable performance for adults and families. Plus, since most of the musicians are trained in jazz, those influences are everywhere in the music of Kerygma from the fun swing tunes to the passing of solos between instrumentalists.
