Bio

Kevin J’s reputation has grown from being a local aspiring artist to a recognized talent on a national and international level. Remarkable dedication to his craft has turned Kevin into an innovative industry veteran who has performed and written songs that have inspired a loyal following of fans as well as captured the attention of some of the music industry’s most influential producers, radio stations and record labels.

Constantly striving to bring a new edge and unique sound to his projects, Kevin’s latest efforts are drawing acclaimed attention within the music industry. While performing at a local Orlando charity event last year, Kevin met producer Wesley Oliver who has worked with artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Joey Fatone, Erin Carter and LA Reed. After hearing Kevin sing, Wesley saw an undeniable talent in Kevin’s abilities as an artist and offered to team up to create his latest album which is due to release at the end of 2006. The newest CD entitled Kevin J. is a collection of distinctive songs showcasing Kevin’s range and diversity as an artist and as Wesley suspected local radio stations and national record companies have absolutely taken notice.

Dave Collins of 107.7, Orlando’s #1 morning show host, has already started playing a pre-release track off of the new album called “Take me As I Am” and is proclaiming that Kevin J. is Orlando’s next Big Star. National record label Incubator Records has sought out Kevin with hopes of signing him to their label in order to develop him into a mainstream national artist.

The incredible momentum, attention and acclaim over the last year on a local and national level have launched Kevin to new career heights broadening his reach and opportunities. Blessed with boundless creativity, Kevin is not one to be limited to only one avenue of the music industry.

With an incredible ear for following the ever-changing current sounds, Kevin continuously has his finger on the pulse of today’s music and displays his strength and knowledge of translating the trends into the various avenues of the entertainment industry not only nationally but internationally. Kevin released singles “Mercy River” and “I Give My All to You” internationally and his tracks exploded garnering him incredible success in Ireland and the U.K. His international success gave Kevin the credibility as an established artist to pursue additional international opportunities. Kevin is currently working on a new song with the exceptional and well-known Irish artist Chantelle Rose called “Bless the Child” scheduled to release in late 2006 or early 2007.

Surrounded by music his entire life could possibly explain Kevin’s unyielding passion and pursuit of his craft. Growing up in church and singing in the choir with other passionate musicians and singers gave him the foundation to succeed in this business and the resolve that the music industry was simply his destiny. The legacy of the love for music spanned back to both of his parents’ musical abilities and their respect for the inspirational power of music. Often standing in the wings, Kevin was fixated on how each element of a performance came together from each musician in a band to the energy and emotion of a performer. His fascination with a performer’s ability to inspire an audience and create a magical moment inspired Kevin to start writing songs at the age of fifteen. His musical gifts were innate and started showing up immediately early in his life. Kevin sang before he could truly talk and he began playing the piano by simply hearing a piece of music. His talent to play the piano perfectly by ear was astounding and it was then that those around him knew his interest in music was more than just a fleeting hobby but a God-given gift. Kevin’s commitment to write and sing songs he could personally relate to are what defined him as a developing artist and he remains committed to that even today.
