After two full length releases, a Canadian tour and sharing the stage with Three Days Grace, Default, Ill Scarlet, Sum 41, Theory of a Deadman and many more the band dispersed in early 2005. Kevin kept busy writing, preparing and recording songs for his first solo release as well as establishing a new project with drummer Shawn Royal (Endeavour) this project would ultimately become known as "The Silenced" The first and only E.P. from "The Silenced" was released live from Edge 102 Studios on February 25th 2006. With the completion of The Silenced Project Kevin Ker fully immersed himself both emotionally and physically in what is already being hailed as his most artistic work to date. With an expected release date of November 2008, the first E.P promises to be a welcome progression in the songwriting and craft that has become expected of Kevin Ker.

Lyrics

Broken

Written By: Kevin Ker

Searching for answers, what's lost and forgotten
Beware of the morning, it's suddle demands
I never denied it, I held on so tightly
I thought I was holding on to something to believe
but it's only this lonely reflection, a failing attempt at me
everything you've ever needed is everything I'll never be
Not with these broken wings on my shoulders
given to fly, now just weigh me down
Nightime surrounding, we'd lay there for hours
quietly seaching, still under command
I never believed that my life was discarded
you said the truth was in the palm of your hand
but it's only this lonely reflection, a failing attempt at me
everything you've ever needed is everything I'll never be
Now I'm left with these broken wings on my shoulders
given to fly, now just weigh me down
honestly, don't fall asleep, comfort me

False Alarm

Written By: Kevin Ker

I don't need anything when you're beside me, we keep the world outside and just deny there's anything beyond here. Where will we go when the truth arrives, we're not supposed to hide but these days we just can't be found, but we're always looking out
I think you should know, we're not in control, there's only so much we can take before the walls surrounding shake and start to crumble
What do we really need to keep the pain away, 'cause the moments coming fast, it'll move right past
if we are not prepared to run
when will we know if we've gone too far? I guess we'll realise when we look inside at strangers staring back at us, is it them we trust
to open up our eyes, take control,
remove our disguise, expose our souls
'cause in your mind your mouth is sewn but if you recognise those familiar eyes could they be the view you used before, are you sure?
Would you bet me?

A Fall Ahead

Written By: Kevin Ker

A long night, don't know if I'll make it
I'm pretty weak but I'll sure try
underneath is a needless invasion
and I'm afraid, I'm afraid
I don't know when this world fell upon us
I don't know when my soul slipped away
all I know is the pain it has caused you and there's nothing that I can say
To ease this fall for you, when I'm further down, a fall ahead
I felt this once before now, when I was a child
I come back wounded and broken,
beyond repair but you'll sure try
arrival seems such a needless invasion, it's safe to say you're not afraid
I don't know when this world fell upon us
I don't know when my soul slipped away
all I know is the pain it has caused you and there's nothing that I can say
To ease this fall for you, when I'm further down, a fall ahead
I felt this once before now, when I was a child

Eye to Eye

Written By: Kevin Ker

Each way that we turn the sky looks empty, is it caving in?
I can't even breathe without the fear of inhaling a breath you don't approve
It's clear we only see eye to eye and nothing underneath
I'm no stranger to the wave, no, I'm constantly reminded and I'm bathing in it.

Well it's so bad, the way that you tear me down love,
but it's so nice, the way that you build me up before you do, before you do

Given half the chance I'd start to remember everything I'd forgotten
It's like a wave of bliss to this motionless divide,
I can barely see what's on its way because it's coming so fast, you know love, its coming any day
god knows I'm starting to fall apart
is it coming soon?

It's so bad, the way that you tear me down love
but it's so nice, the way that you build me up before you do,
It's so sad, all the beauty that we create
Is all that we have, all that we choose to appreciate
ya we choose, choose, choose
