Biography

Once a very introverted, artsy guy, now a very confident, yet incredibly humble adult, Kevin Owens was born third of five siblings in Atlanta, Georgia, to Ministers Wayne L. and Beryl Owens on November 17, 1982. He was raised in Ellenwood, Georgia, a relatively small city within the suburban metropolitan-Atlanta area, and like most talented kids was heavily involved in the performance aspects of school and church. However, it was outside of those walls, as a teenager, that he began to develop his professional career with a small production company as a vocalist, lyricist, arranger, composer, and producer.

Currently, Kevin is a Washington, DC resident and an undergrad Howard University student. As a Music major at Howard, he has become exposed to many of the musicians that influence the uniqueness of his style. These include lengendary artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, and the Clark Sisters as well as new-schoolers like Brandy, Musiq, Kelly Price, Kirk Franklin, and Kim Burrell, among others.

A phenominally skilled musician with a razor sharp ear, Kevin has a musical style that has yet to be defined. Some might jokingly call it "jazzspel", a combination of the chordal intricacies of jazz and the soulful expressions of gospel. In short, he describes himself as "a progressive combination of many great musicians that create one unique sound."
