Guitar in one hand, suitcase in the other, British singer/songwriter Kevin Rowe arrived in Atlanta with little more than mad piano skills and an unadulterated love of music.

In just a short year, Kevin was endorsed by Nord Keyboards, released his debut album and made several media appearances.

Biography

Guitar in one hand, suitcase in the other, British singer/songwriter Kevin Rowe arrived in the U.S. in 2010 in pursuit of the elusive magic that America alone has to offer: the unwavering belief that dreams can come true. Faced with risking it all and choosing to leave behind everything, including his entire studio and his precious Nord piano – Kevin jumped on a plane bound for Georgia. In spite of his raw talent, he arrived with little more than a prayer that Atlanta would be as welcoming to him as it had been to previous musicians.

Immediately upon arrival, Kevin was endorsed by Nord and invited to perform in several showcases. In the following months, the barefoot British musician won the heart of his new city with his debut album ‘10am,’ which transformed the oft-overlooked moments in life into powerful ballads and foot-stomping rock melodies. His distinctive smoky voice and unforgettable falsetto had music critics and industry reviewers throwing out names like Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker and John Mayer. Atlanta Magazine branded him “sensational,” while BBC labeled him a “great voice” and The Examiner noted him as a musician who “flat out owns the piano.” Invited to perform live on a local CBS station, Kevin charmed Atlantans with his smile-inducing lyrics and unadulterated love of music. The summer of 2011 saw the founding of the Kevin Rowe Band and recording of three powerful new singles to be released this fall. Less than a year in the States and this soulful rocker is proving, yet again, that in America, hard work and talent transforms dreams into reality.

Lyrics

Feel Good

Written By: Kevin Rowe

I can see that you're a million miles
From the place you would want to be
I know you think that you are just a shadow
Of someone you used to be

So paint a picture of your days gone by
Dig out all your favourite photographs
Put them in a frame so you can see
You're as beautiful as you used to be

Lay in bed and watch the rain outside
- if it makes you feel good
Just start laughing for no reason at all
- if it makes you feel good
Hold the hand of the one you care for
- if it makes you feel good
Why don't you tell me what is on your mind
- if it's gonna make you feel good

You have over analysed your situation
You're dizzy trying to figure out what's wrong
But it's just a season thing you're in
And you know that it won't last forever more

You're just moving uncomfortably slow
And things aren't moving in the way you want to go
And you're getting tired of being insecure
But I know your pain, cos I have felt the same

Wait on me tonight everything's gonna be alright
No more crying eyes! Everything's gonna be alright

The Waiting

Written By: Kevin Rowe

He has never felt so over-thrown
When he was living in a house alone
But now she's living with him all the time
It so much harder when they say goodbye
Everyday seems compromised
As another busy day comes rolling by

She hides little messages around the bedroom
And puts her clothes on in the dark
And now he wakes up to the sound of her keys
Jingle in the front door as she leaves
There's an empty space beside him
And another busy day starts rolling by

So he ties a ribbon on a box, signs his name across the top
Turns some music on and puts some flowers in a pot
Leaves a message on her phone
Saying "baby when you're home,
I've got a little plan to spend some time on our own.
You know, I am just trying to say
That you are worth the waiting everyday"

She says she really wants to be a nurse someday
Reads a thousand books and puts them all away
She starts to write a essay on the things she's learned
Before she has to stop again and run to work
Little frustrations grow inside
As another busy day goes rolling by

So he ties a ribbon on a box, signs his name across the top
Turns some music on and puts some flowers in a pot
Leaves a message on her phone
Saying "baby when you're home,
I've got a little plan to spend some time on our own.
Cos you, you are worth the waiting everyday!

I know the weight of the world is sitting right upon your shoulders
I can't wait until we're home and all of this is over
We'll be looking back on all the years we're going through
Give a smile, raise a glass, say the things we'll never do again
And I am just trying to say
That you are worth the waiting everyday"

Singing Like A Rich Man

Written By: Kevin Rowe

She loves more than lemonade
I know, she tells me all the time
She loves my crazy masquerades
I know, cos she secretly smiles when I look the other way

We've been talking to some high profile fools
And they say you're only worth what you own
Well it must be pleasing living sleazy in designer suits
And work a hundred hour weeks, so you can pay the deficit you owe
On all the cars and pink champagne
But that's not the way we want to be

No we never,
Have a lot of money
When we're driving to the south coast - music loud - windows down
Singing so they hear us "ooohhh"
Walking 'round the beach towns
Holding hands, asking who takes cash, and who's the cheapest around
Singing so they hear us "ooohhh"

She loves to go explore the great outdoors
I'm not opposed, but I suppose I do it for her
We're passing all the workers working in the tower blocks
And the city all lit up like a Christmas tree
And we are passing by waving goodbye

And all the riches in the world
Can't beworth more than a girl
Who will love you in spite of everything you are
I ain't trying to be romantic
I just can't understand loving something that won't love you

Dancing On The Kitchen Tiles

Written By: Kevin Rowe

She calls me pet names,
And our friends look so confused
Because they don't understand the language that we use
The bottom step of the stairs
Is where we hold each other tight
Cos that's the only place we use match our height

Top of the morning and it's 3am
She makes the time fly when we're having a good time

Dancing on the kitchen tiles
We groove around the room,
And jive till we get tired
Dancing on the kitchen tiles
We swing around a little more

We Like to stay up late to watch our favourite films
Sometimes we fall asleep before we see the end
We like our showers on a moderate heat
But that's if she leaves enough hot water for me

Top of the morning and it's 4am
She makes the time fly when we're having a good time
It still feels like morning when it's late at night
But she puts the colour inside of my life!

4 Walls

Written By: Kevin Rowe

Tomorrow might be a better day
Perhaps I'll find the words to say
How the hours feel like months today
Just stuck in my 4 walls

The colours left my picture frames,
The TV does not know my name
And the numbers on my clocks don't change
Inside of my 4 walls

In here, it's so lonely without you
In here, it's just me in my 4 walls
In here, I'm waiting for you to rescue me from my walls closing in

Don't you walk on - by (x2)

My humour won't come out to play
Even the post has nothing new to say
Looks like the only thing that's here to stay
Is the gloom of my 4 walls

Perhaps tomorrow I will find the words to say
How much I've been missing you.
Because tomorrow you will be here to stay
With me in my 4 walls

You could paint my room all the rainbow colours,
But you do that anyway, just by being here

Last Train Home

Written By: Kevin Rowe

Laying flat on her floor,
Surrounded by her clothes
And towers of magazines
She said she 'won't be long', it's been an hour and all I see

Upon the walls are her friends, that keep her smiling everyday
I wish I was on her wall too

It's like moving on the last train home
When you're the only one not sleeping
Take a ride on the last train home
You wanna move on, but this driver is going too slowly

I can see our names
That she's written on her door frames
I check her phone just to see
That I'm the first one there, with double 'a' before my name

What does this mean?
Does she think about me all the time?
I wish I was not alone inside her room

Yeah she's so right for me,
I think I want her as my wife
I think I might just propose
The minute she walks back through the door
Maybe it's just too soon - maybe I would just like to know
If she'll be mine

Katie

Written By: Kevin Rowe

I know this girl who keeps pulling me faces
As if I'm talking in another language
She just turned sixteen and my last bags at the front of my parent's door

Oh, it's not goodbye at all
Cos I'm only down the road
I told her we could talk all night on the telephone
And watch the movies of us growing up

I'm three years old now and I've got a brand new friend
I'm staring at the front page of her life
And we're all alone here, and that's alright with me
We're gonna have the best days of our lives
The best days of our lives

Today she's a teacher, and her bedroom's a school
She's talking to dolls as if they all could understand her
I could see even then that she could do anything that she wanted to

Oh, one thing she'll never know
Is how I miss her everyday
I told her we could talk all night on the telephone
And watch the movies of us growing up
