From Manchester New Hampshire i moved to the seacoast and soon discovered the town of Portsmouth. One evening i walked into the Press Room on Daniel Street. I knew this was a great place for music and was fortunate to play my first open mic there, but was not ready for what I was about to experience.
While having dinner with a friend I could hear music, but very faintly in the back ground. after curiosity finally took hold i got up and walked to where the sound seemed to be coming from.
As the music got louder I could see i would have to sift through a bit of an audience. Alas here was the source...  a session, a Celtic one at that, with singing and many instruments.  Immediatley with jaw in hand I was  transported to Ireland or Canada both of which are the roots of my blood. 
This day was the most influential in my life regarding the music i would play.
Since then i have focused on the acoustic guitar, banjo and harmonica.  I have also studied singing under mentor, Bruce MacIntyre. 
writing songs and learning traditional and contemporary ones has been the cornerstone to my performaces either solo or with a band.  I play both old timey and bluegrass banjo, and finger pick and play rhythm guitar. i have been fortunate to be in a few bands and am proud of all the work that has been produced. 
Currently I am focused on performing as a solist playing guitar and harmonica, featuring songs of my own composition and a few selected covers from the likes of jimmy rogers and townes van zandt.
