Kevlar is a Rock/Hard Rock band from the Erie, PA area.
The band has been writing, touring and recording since Summer 2011 and the current lineup has been together since June 2012... The bands' influences span a wide variety of rock genres and time periods from 1970's to present day, and in particular Alter Bridge, Rush, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, 3 Days Grace, Journey, Foo Fighters...
We are obsessive in our love of music.... We have the same dream of many aspiring musicans and we want to do this full-time and forever and we are going to keep trying until we get signed. Listen to our music.... we truly believe the songs that are coming out of us are ready for the masses right now!
Our music has a timeless and feel to it and the songs we have written are connecting with listeners of different genres and various age groups which sets us apart from a lot of bands... Every facet of our songwriting is equally important to us and much effort is put into each part to make each and every song strong musically, lyrically, melodically and structurally.... Our full length CD was released in August 2012 and songs are streaming on our Reverbnation and Facebook pages as well as this site...
Our live performances are very powerful and engaging and we are great at interacting with people in attendence and getting them "involved" with our music, ranging from full-out moshpits to slower "put your lighter in the air" reactions... We are especially aware that there are different "types" of crowds and venues and are adept at entertaining 15 or 50 year olds.
Some noteworthy recent accomplishments are:
March 2012-Placed 1st out of 16 bands in the Erie Regional High School Battle of the Bands
April 2012-Placed 3rd out of 47 bands (no age restrictions)in the Gorilla Music Pittsburgh Battle of the Bands
April 2012-chosen to be an Opening Act for Hawthorne Heights tour stop in Erie
July 2012-nominated in Rock Erie Music Awards (REMA's) for Best Rock Band and Album Of The Year (out of 70+ sumbitted)
August 2012-chosen to participate in Gorilla Music Cleveland Music Showcase for A&R Reps from Major Record Labels
October 2012-chosen to open for Mushroomhead in Cleveland
