Kevon credits R.Kelly, Babyface, and Donald Lawrence as his musical influences. He credits Kevin Bond, Daniel Weatherspoon, Rodney East, pop, and new age music as his piano influences.
Kevon Carter is a winner of the Albertina Walker Scholarship. He has written songs for Kevin Vasser "Gods House", and Chicago Mass Choir "Cannot tell it all", and "Working it out for your Good". Recently, Kevon Carter was blessed two write 2 songs featured on award winning Dewayne Woods project. (God Still Heals, and You Shall Reap). "God Still Heals" was featured on the TBN Praise The Lord show in which Juanita Bynum hosted. Just last year, Kevon was blessed to write a song with "living legend" Donald Lawrence.

Kevon had always been satisfied playing piano, directing choirs, and writing songs for other artist. Finally, after much running, he has submitted to the call of God on his life to be an artist. In an industry where you are either a praise and worship artist, hip hop artist, ccm artist, Kevon can be called a mix of every style of christian music. Despite all of his different styles featured on his project, the one constant is Christ. Kevon's goal in this project is to make the listener praise, worship, cry, laugh, and think. He decided not to stick to one specific style, simply because he wanted the project to represent who he is. He is not just a worship leader, nor is he just a urban artist. He is just simply an artist that calls his style of music, "Ministry Music".
