The honest familiarity of Kev Rowe's melodies harkens back to Paul Simon's folk-pop creations, while the smooth, realness in his voice recalls the personal intimacy of James Taylor.

Biography

Kev Rowe has been a touring musician for 10 years doing over 1000 gigs either by himself as a solo musician or with his americana band, Big Leg Emma. He has certainly met a lot of interesting and amazing people. Recently he opened for songwriting legends America and was asked to play the encore "Horse with No Name" to a sold-out audience at the legendary Birchmere Music Hall in Alexandria, VA. He also made his debut at the #1 songwriting venue in NYC, The Living Room, and also at the legendary spot, The Bitter End. Over the years he's shared the stage with an incredible list of musicians (see below).

Currently, Kev Rowe is releasing his third cd entitled "hi love" which was recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC with producer Danny Kadar (The Avett Brothers, Trey Anastasio of Phish, and My Morning Jacket). "Making "hi love" was an amazing two year journey of recording for me. Every couple of weeks I'd go up to Asheville, record a few tunes with some unbelievable musicians and then come home. The songs on "hi love" are straight from the heart and describe the things closest to me", says Rowe. His previous cds "Into the Gold" and "Brown Book" have both won numerous awards in national songwriting contests (see below).

Kev Rowe lives in Jamestown, NY, home to a very fertile and loyal roots music scene. When he's not at home recording or writing, he's on the road spreading the love with his personal tunes.

I'll Love You Either Way

Written By: Kev Rowe

You can do what you wanna do
You can say what you wanna say
You can turn your back on me
I will love you either way
I will love you either way
When there’s nothing more to say

You can go where you need to go
You can stay when you need to stay
You can follow every dream
I will love you either way
Yes I will love you either way
When there’s no more dreams to chase
I will love you either way

You can fall when you need to fall
You can make a lifetime of mistakes
You can blame them all on me
I will love you either way
Yes I will love you either way
When there’s no more blame to lay

You can live how you wanna live
You can play when you wanna play
You can turn your back on me
And I will love you either way

Burn Away

Written By: Kev Rowe

Let me burn away, let me burn away
Let me burn away into the night
Let me find peace in a better day
Let me find peace so right
Let me burn away, let me burn away
Off into the pale moonlight

Won’t you runaway, won’t you runaway
Won’t you runaway with me
Take my hand and we’ll disappear
Just float off in this breeze
Won’t you runaway, won’t you runaway
And we will both be free

Float away on the wind with me
Like ashes on the fire
Put your trust and faith in me
And we’ll be getting higher
Take my heart in your hand
And keep it safe and warm
Leave with me to the fields of grass
Til the dew drops in the morning

Let me burn away, let me burn away
Let me burn away into the night
Let me find peace in a better day
Let me find peace so right
Let me burn away, let me burn away
Off into the pale moonlight

Let me find a home tonight
In this never ending sweet twilight
I’m ready to let myself go
And disappear into the night

Let me burn away, let me burn away
Let me burn away into the night
Let me find peace in a better day
Let me find peace so right
Let me burn away, let me burn away
Off into the pale moonlight

Won’t you runaway, won’t you runaway
Won’t you runaway with me
Take my hand and we’ll disappear
Just float off in this breeze
Won’t you runaway, won’t you runaway
And we will both be free

Burn away

Something's Going Down

Written By: Kev Rowe

Oh, the sweet life goes by fast
It’s simple but hard to grasp
It’s one day up one day down so easily
So I try to slow it down
I put one foot on the ground
But this spinning round just makes it hard to see

Something’s goin down, Something’s goin up
It’s getting so hard to fill this cup
Something’s goin down, something’s goin up
Or is it me

Oh, the hard times creep on slow
But disappear before I know
So I don’t expect what I think oughta be
Cause when you learn to live without
The sweetest things come out
Rising from the surface of the sea

Something’s goin down, Something’s goin up
It’s getting so hard to fill this cup
Something’s goin down, something’s goin up
Or is it me

So let’s crash down on the living room floor
Find a space, leave a path to the door
Crash down on the living room floor yeah

Something’s goin down, Something’s goin up
It’s getting so hard to fill this cup
Something’s goin down, something’s goin up
Or is it me

Cool Me

Written By: Kev Rowe

Cool me down with sweet water
Lay me down by your riverside
Today the shade doesn’t even bother
While the sun seeks a place to hide

It would mean so much to me
If you’d cool me down
In fact I’d rather be underground
All by ourselves we just can’t be found
How I love how you cool me down

Mother nature’s so hot this year
She’ll push the grey skies out of the way
And all the flowers that you plant every year
Have opened up but all ran away

It would mean so much to me
If you’d cool me down
In fact I’d rather be underground
All by ourselves we just can’t be found
How I love how you cool me down

This world pleads for us to change
and we ignore it’s cry for help
And while these continents rearrange
We just think about ourselves, think about ourselves

It would mean so much to me
If you’d cool me down
In fact I’d rather be underground
All by ourselves we just can’t be found
How I love how you cool me down

How I love how you cool me down

Gently

Written By: Kev Rowe

Gently heal my body, gently heal my soul
Gently lay me down tonight, Don’t let me go

Gently, heal me, soft and slow
Right here with you’s the safest place I know
Out there I’m lost, I don’t know where to go
Gently, heal me, soft and slow

Gently heal my body, gently heal my soul
Gently lay me down tonight, Don’t let me go

Let me calm your worried mind
I see your running, always racing time
Slow down and notice everything is fine
Let me calm your worried mind

Gently heal my body, gently heal my soul
Gently lay me down tonight, Don’t let me go

Gently, take me, somewhere else
I see you dreaming there all by yourself
You paint a picture that I love so well
Gently, take me, somewhere else

Gently heal my body, gently heal my soul
Gently lay me down tonight, Don’t let me go

Set List

I have 3 cds worth of original material. I can do shows from 30 minutes to 3 hours. In an hour show I may do 1 or 2 covers for fun. In a longer show, usually a few more covers, but never more than 20%. Some covers I do span a wide range from Paul Simon, Phish, UB40, Grateful Dead, and more.
