"Moombah-thong"

Some of you may recognize the name Kev Willow from his tutorials on Youtube. Teaching how to make Dubstep wobbles to Moombahton tracks and everything in between! His videos have been very helpful to me for learning as I am still at a basic level. And recommend if any of you are wanting to learn. Check hit shit out! Better than reading a fucking book

Kev Willow : Youtube channel

Other than doing tutorial vids to help all us useless cunts. Kev has also been doing alot of work. Recently announcing his debut Moombahton EP titled “Less Work More Play”, which should hopefully be out very soon!

And also just finishing his latest track which I think is one of the most amazing Moombahcore tracks I have heard! If his work is going to be as amazing as this track. Things will be looking very good for him in the Moombahton scene! - Deejay Sanka

"Chase & Status 'Time' Competition Results"

There were thousands of entries into the 'Time' Remix competition, and we have whittled them down to choose a winner and 2 runners up.

The winning remix, which will be released in the digital bundle of 'Time' on iTunes, is the Kev Willow remix.

Saul explains how he and Will chose the winner: "As soon as we heard Kev Willow's remix we knew we'd found the winner. We loved the music used in the intro, and the garage / Todd Edwards vibe with the cut up vocals was an original concept for dubstep. It was a different and exciting sounding remix and he really put his own stamp on it." - Chase & Status

"Kev Willow - Upcoming EDM Talent"

Producing a range of Electronic, Dubstep flavoured epics in the last year, Liverpool’s Kev Willow has been finding his works on the setlist of many a respected DJ of late. With support coming from Heartbreak; Mistajam, Jake Gosling, DJ Play and the mighty Chase & Status, it’s safe to say Kev is a producer in ascension.

Kev’s take on Chase & Status’s massive release “Time ft. Delilah” serves as proof of his talent and potential, beating over a thousand entries in an official remix competition, which saw the track included in the single’s digital bundle.

Currently working alongside Hadouken for their latest album offering, as well putting the finishing touches to his latest release, a moombahton stomper called “Hello, I’m Kev”, Willow (formerly The Prototype), is building quickly support and momentum as a pioneer of bass-driven music. With influences and stylistic tendencies ranging from Moomcore, House and Future Garage, as well as Dubstep, Kev isn’t a producer to be pigeonholed.

The EP heralds Kev’s foray into the constantly evolving world of Moombahton, presenting a range of heavy, throbbing bass monsters, technical acid shifts and a dose of bleepy Dutch-influenced Moombahton alongside some more chilled, reflective works. As such, “Hello, I’m Kev” serves as a diverse, broadminded first step into a brave new genre.

A monthly resident at Sessions Faction, KW can be found representing his eclectic tastes on the decks, as well as building up a huge online fan-base by providing free tracks, remixes and production tutorials to the masses. - Carol Galli

"Dj Shadow - Scale It Back Competition Results"

Scale It Back (Kev Willow Remix) As with Party Ben’s mix, Kev’s is technically flawless. From mix to arrangement to programming, there is NOTHING I would change. It is simply a perfect remix, with just the right balance of original elements and (incredible) new production.
This is a dubstep mix, and like many of you, I have heard my share of dubstep over the last couple of years, most of which I have liked, some I have not. Every style of dance music has a few innovators and hoards of copycats, which tends to dilute the music’s potency. At its best, I find dubstep to be exciting and visceral, much more aligned to my grimy hip-hop sensibilities than most other club music. Regardless of the genre (and Kev’s other soundcloud mixes show his versatility) talent deserves to be recognized, and Kev is a true talent, make no mistake. Wave down to me on your way to the top, Kev! - Dj Shadow

"Music, The 10 Acts You Already Know Right?"

Kev Willow
Hails From: Liverpool, Britain [UK]
Affiliation: Viral Beat Recordings [self label]
It was his impressive take on Chase & Status’s Time ft. Deliah track that led the Liverpooler to claim a top remix prize, beating out thousands.

But, it is his overt originality that keeps you sifting through mixes drenched in dubstep, house and Moombahton. Kev Willow, formerly The Prototype, compiles a mix of fuzzed-washed symphonies with gutter bass-driven drops. It’s no wonder he is working alongside English grime outfit, Hadouken. Quick to know trends yet true to the technical craft of mastering chilled and throbbing tracks, Kev Willow may be young, but he seems ready. His confidence can be seen in his production, but also in one of his many online tutorials that he offers up for free, even doing one-on-one training. Challenging himself in styles like electro complextro and moombahcore, the 20-something producer continues to release banging tracks and smart compilations.
Snag his free EP here.
Make sure to keep a look out for his collaborative track with MC Whizzkid, expected in 2012.

He also just put out a Christmas Cracker EP.
Must Hear Track: Staffy & Maverick – Chucked Love [The Prototype Remix]
Listen to Kev Willow’s winning remix entry.

Currently working alongside Hadouken for their latest album offering (to be released this year), Aswell as winning yet another remix competition before 2012 has even begun properly. Dj Shadow had this to say about Kev's remix,

A monthly resident at Sessions Faction, Kev can be found representing his eclectic tastes on the decks, as well as building up a huge online fan-base by providing free tracks, remixes and production tutorials to the masses. Using YouTube as a platform from which to share his tips, skill and resources with less experienced producers, delivering lessons and ‘How To’ information, garnered from his eight years behind the production desk.

Its safe to say that with way things are shaping up for young williams, 2012 will be his year.
