Bio
Key Grip is dedicated to blues that swings, even the slower tunes. It's gotta swing!! Leo Joseph has been playing piano for forty years and has been a blues player since the glory days of the Full House Blues Band in Adelaide back in the mid 80s. He lived in Philadelphia for 9 years and became a regular in the blues community there. Since returning to Australia in 2005 he has recorded piano and Hammond keyboard parts here in Canberra for his US blues friends like bassist Lenny Fatigati in Houston and Randy Lippincott (who has played with Lowell Fulson and Johnny Copeland) in Philadelphia.
The band features Canberra's blues guitar great Dave Blanken, stalwart Swingmeister Mitch Preston on drums and Greg Moss on bass. The Gripping Stuff Horn Section is James "Gimme" LeFevre, Nick Combe and Tom Fell and they colour the sound with alto, tenor and baritone sax. Angela Lount regualrly guests on vocals.
