Keyrats

It all started with a New Years Eve Party. On December 31, 2003, Keyrats were commissioned to play for a crowd approaching 1,000 people from the balcony of a Key Biscayne residence overlooking the Miami bay. The performance was a success, and shortly thereafter Keyrats began receiving phone calls from local promoters interested in booking the band. Over the course of the next two and a half years, the Keyrats played at multiple popular venues in Miami including Oxygen Lounge, Bolero, Honey, Bayside Hut, Transit Lounge, Flavour, Mansion, and the University of Miami.
Keyrats main influences are many; they range from Bob Marley to Alice in Chains to Parliament to latin jazz. The 'Rats display the musical prowess that enables them to be so eclectic night in and night out, blending long, ripping guitar/horn solo's with melodic, catchy vocals into one original, knock-your-socks-off kind of sound.
Keyrats arent simply a band fusing melodic reggae, latin funk and punk rock; they represent a lifestyle, one which is associated with the debauchery and binge-drinking commonly incited by their on-stage antics. They bring out the best in people, just like Tequila, which means on any given night at any given Keyrat concert, expect the unexpected.
