The Keys & Drums Duo is a newly formed instrumental music project that performs both originals and a variety of timeless, yet recognizable covers. Consisting of various keyboard instruments and drums, they feel comfortable playing the gentlest of ballads to intense groove-based tunes.

Biography

Keys is Robbie Bielawski from Roanoke, VA. Robbie has studied keyboards and played in reggae bands, jam bands, and tribute bands for over 8 years. Robbie, while a serious student of classical music, is currently pursuing a degree in jazz performance at North Carolina Central University. Robbie’s influences are The Rolling Stones, Kanye West, Brad Mehldau, Bruce Hornsby and J.S. Bach. Robbie is comfortable and proficient in both classical and improvisational settings. As a touring professional, he has played throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia and New York City.

Drums is Peter Albrecht from Raleigh, NC. He has performed with a wide range of groups playing jazz, blues, classic rock, and classical music in the Triangle. He has also worked as a private drum teacher for over twenty years. Prior to that, he toured in the Midwest and Southwest playing clubs and casino venues. His influences include jazz drummers Elvin Jones and Roy Haynes, along with rock drummers Richie Hayward (Little Feat) and Chris Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughn).
