Bio
Poised to become Americas first Teen Urban Idol, KeyTurah stands on the edge of greatness. At the young age of 13, she recorded alongside Gerald Levert on Love Dont Come No Better, in honor of the late John Whitehead. One year later, she secured a spot in a pool of eligible finalists for NBCs Star Search. Now at the tender age of sweet 16 she has secured a spot as a finalist in the UPN Urban Idol Show. True to her passion and craft, KeyTurah performs regularly at a host of showcases and talent shows throughout the Atlanta area.
Earlier this year, KeyTurah caught the attention of HeadBop Records producer Antwel, who has worked with Monica, Mya, 3LW, Trillville and many others. She has a great work ethic and attitude, said Antwel, "and she also has her finger on the pulse of young urban America." KeyTurah not only sings, but also raps and writes her own songs. From Pop to R &B to Hip Hop to Crunk & B and Ballads, this young-multi-talented artist is out-of-the-box. She exudes a total confidence and style that can be heard in her lyrics and seen in her vivid live performances.
KeyTurah is currently working on her first album, which is expected to debut in spring of 2007. KeyTurahs first single, entitled Up N Down, is scheduled to be released this summer and is guaranteed to be a hit!
When KeyTurah is not spending long days in the studio, she enjoys riding motorcycles with her Dad--president of an elite motorcycle club in Atlanta. He says, KeyTurah is the daughter I always wanted and the son I never had. KeyTurahs other passions are dancing, listening to music and hanging out with her crew, the infamous Dyme Divas. KeyTurahs favorite artists are Ciara, Gwen Stefani, Jill Scott, Chris Brown, just to name a few. At the end of the day, KeyTurah is a typical teenage girl with all of the triumphs and heartbreak. Adored and respected by her peers, she demonstrates the confidence and ability to express these realities through song and dance.
