Oct 23, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --Cincinnati, Ohio female hip hop artist Khadijah aka "Queen of the City" makes music history as she gains momentum on her local radio station airwaves. The young female artist has been rapping for all of six month and has managed to have three hit singles on radio at one time. In an industry that is dominated by her counter parts Khadijah has been managed to gain the respect of her music peers as she has been an opening performance act for major recording artist such as: Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Juvenile, Gorilla Zoe and others.
While collaborating with other local artist and producers Khadijah was able to promote herself through flyers, shows, and by selling Cd's hand to hand which has lead her to super music producer Hi-Tek. Hi-Tek is a local producer that has produced for many major recording artist such as : 50 cent, young buck, Talib Kweli and other notables. It was through her self promotion that lead Khadijah to radio program director Eddie B. of the Wizfm leading her to an opportunity to meet the industry producer. The two hooked up for a song called "Gonna Bang" which is currenlty being played on the radio station, along with her highly requested single "I'm a Boss" and Nails & Hair Done with local singer Rico and rapper Slick Rick aka Mr. Why wouldn't I?.
As Khadijah likes to be called "Queen of the City" as her stage moniker, she embraces the success as feeling of joy, to be able to work with some talented producers, and artist while bringing the Cincinnati hip-hop music scene closer to a respected national level. Khadijah aka Khadijah "Queen of the City" music is urban hip hop. While she maintains the ability to write radio friendly, and chart topping hits her music she will say is influenced by great lyric writers & performing artist such as: Nas, Jay-Z, and other east coast artist that have a vivid imagination and lyrical style.
Her high impact and energetic stage performance can be felt immediately as she commands the crowds attention for the duration of her shows, with crowd participation, dancers, and both male & female friendly songs that get all in attendance, involved in her performance.
Khadijah in early 2007 came back to rapping after a long stint off with a drive and dedication of a superstar. While only being back on the music 6 months Khadijah has managed to assemble a performance, and radio/club friendly songs that have secured her a strong fan base in the Greater Cincinnati Area and beyond.
Her work ethic and drive has impacted the local music scene enabling her to be asked to be a opening performance act for major recording artist such as: Rick Ross (Def Jam), Boyz N Da Hood (Bad Boy South), Slim Thug & Paul Wall (Swisha House), Gucci Mane (Big Cat/Atlantic), Hurricane Chris (Polo Ground), Flavor of Love Model Hoopz, and others. She has also performed for the yearly Radio One Station 101.1fm Anniversary Party. With no plans of slowing up now the artist is currently expanding her performance and promotional efforts across the country.
While achieving such success in this short time Khadijah has gained the respect and admiration of local promoters, community leaders, local DJ's, the hip-hop music community, mixshow DJ & program director for radio one's 101.1fm WIZFM.
It is even fascinating to know that Khadijah is well respected by her male counter parts as she has even freestyle battled some of Cincinnati's best MC's and has won convincingly! (The Battle will be on YouTUBE or her myspace page soon)
Khadijah's new single "I'm a Boss" currently is receiving local support & spins on radio station 101.1fm and in the clubs. The single "I'm A Boss" has gained so much momentum and requests that it has hit the radio stations top 8 at 8 list by being debuted at as high as #5!
Khadijah proves to be a hard and dedicated worker as her efforts has even landed her an opportunity to do an intro for radio personality/PD Eddie Bauer and DJ Diamonds 5'oclock in da basement show. The intro song can be heard daily by logging on to WIZFM.com.
