Bio

If it sounds like music and looks like music, then it is probably because someone who knows music made the public aware. When Tony Clayton also known as Khakolak Boy made it his business to understand sound, he became nothing less than dedicated. Born and raised in Hendersonville, NC on January 26, 1980, Khakolak Boy grew up writing and vibing to the sounds of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. Soon, styles from artists such as Jay-Z, Tupac and the Wu-Tang Clan influenced how the young talent began to write. With passions from his youth to be a hip-hop artist, Khakolak Boy made an oath to be in the game. As a kid, writing and making beats became like breathing and it was only a matter of time before his time met with destiny.

Hardworking and meticulous, the soon to be sound master invested in his ears by going to school to learn engineering so that he could become well rounded in all facets of making music. Once enrolling in the Institute of Audio Research, his investment paid off, sharpening his ear and developing as an audio engineer while earning an internship at North Carolina’s Echo Mountain Studio. There, he learned under some of the best engineers in the music industry. When training his ears, he also had to train his mind to not become frustrated with the difficult task of interpreting sound. But the path brought along beautiful relationships as he collaborated with B-Lyn and DCT, whom which he signed to his label, Urbanizm Music and has been working non-stop ever since.

All his innate senses are at play when Khakolak Boy gets in the studio, bringing his intelligence to decifer powerful sounds that privileged minds and ears can grasp. On a daily basis, he perfects his career in audio engineering, making his hands and ears a necessity for hip-hop future.
