Bio
Khandi is the Vocalist-Pianist, Lyricist, Songwriter/Composer-Producer, DJ, Visual Artist, and Teacher... to name a few.
Singing unknown melodies at age two, tickling the ivory by age five, penning her emotions, visually and lyrically, by age nine, and her older cousin introducing her to spinning vinyl by age 11; Khandi remained thoroughly exposed to various art forms, almost concurrently, from a very young age.
Khandi draws her influence from the cool spirited: her family, her former art/photography/music teachers, and cool friends. Musically, Khandi also draws inspiration from: Lauryn Hill, Miles Davis, Little Brother, Alanis Morrisette, Jann Arden, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Lyve, Erik Flowchild, Black Milk, and Whitney Houston.
Khandi has been blessed to work with the likes of: Lyve, Lord Quest, Mason Payne; and has even received head nods from North Carolina's own Phonte Coleman. Although she continues to work towards the completion of her first solo project, Khandi is also working silently on some heavy co-productions.
