Teck aka Kharvari

There are not many who write with as much creativity as Tristan McClain. Growing up in a diverse background, it is no to surprise that Tristan McClain’s songs are known for affecting various individuals on distinct levels.

Tristan Kharvari McClain, born on the Homestead Air force Base in Miami, Florida, began writing at the age of six. He grew up in a society that embodied a plethora of environments, and from each he pulled inspiration. For this reason his songs touch and move all individuals who come across them. His musical style ranges from Rap and Hip Hop to Jazz to Country.

His skill is not just limited to songwriting, however. He is also musician (piano and guitar) and producer, thus creating a complete package. His songs have been performed by varying artist from Miami to Atlanta. Many times he is an accompanying musician during the performance.

Influenced by the likes of Prince, Wyclef Jean, Andre 3000, and Musiq Soulchild, Tristan’s music is not the typical music heard on the airways today. He looks to the past to gain insight into the future. His two favorite quotes include,

In addition to constantly writing, Tristan has started and independent record label for other artist who share the same musical aspirations as him. The label’s motto is

“We strive to provide enjoyable yet meaningful music, never restricting or sacrificing one to enhance the other. This balance is sought after every time we write, record, or perform. The negative connotations that are associated with being a “rap artist” are what we are constantly fighting against. Individuality is our focus, creating a sound that encompasses many different genres”.

He is also the music editor and sound engineer for the award winning Kollage Dance Troupe.
