kHz Press Quotes

"darkly atmospheric with boulder-heavy riffs-this gothic influenced metal band could get bela lugosi moshing" --Revolver Magazine

"kHz has a crunchy, machine-like, almost nine inch nails feel. For the alienated, pissed off, rebellious youth, we prescribe a daily dose of kHz and reality on a finer scale." - Hit Parader Magazine

"From the opening attack of It's Yours to the somber closing of Stay All Night, the listener is taken on a roller coaster ride of rising and tumbling emotion. Definitely a band to watch in 2005."

- MK Magazine

"reality on a finer scale is a massive piece of work, it grows with each listen containing buried subtexts that are only revealed when the listener absorbs the first layer in round one, then opens their ears for the world below on subsequent listens."

- Outburn Magazine

""songs like "let it go" "it" and "rubberhead" rock the post industrial dirge of bands like tool and ministry, while "it's yours" and "empty" are somewhere between filter and the deftones." - Prick Magazine

"Extremely passionate, heart-breaking, anti-social, heavy rock music with a broken attitude. Short review: This kHz CD will kick your ass! Now, get your own! - Sick Among The Pure Magazine

"A classic, this band will kick your ass. kHz's versatility and expertise in various tempos is impressive. I also liked the way the band occasionally throws in electronic effects that take the listener by surprise and bring them back into the moment. A fascinating and powerful recording - Rough Edge Magazine

"The first time I heard "It's Yours", some primitive sound left me, it was a completely involuntary thing. Powerful and surprising, Reality On A Finer Scale is like a 5-ton catharsis - This band FULLY Rocks! -
Church Of Girl Magazine

"Painful and at times almost disturbing, Reality On A Finer Scale is an album that darkly pulsates through some of the best technical arrangements this side of an Evanescence meets Otep drink fest! -Exclusive magazine

‘Let it Go’ displays lead singer Raiana’s ability to blow Chester Bennington off stage with her voice. And she is more than ably backed by the rest of the band. KHZ take their music to higher levels – from the hard core of ‘It’s Yours’ to a softer nature like ‘Broken.’ whereas similar bands tend to produce albums that have tracks that just blend like cream and white.

-Steven Hurst -glasswerk.co.uk

"This is a total kick ass cd, it's upfront honest and in your face . This made me say "Finally, something that really moves me!" Evertime you listen to it you hear differnt things that you didn't hear the first time." - bacstagepass.com

"I would suggest this band to all fans of hard rock, especially those who enjoy a female vocalist who not only has a beautiful singing voice, but some serious chops to back up the heavy shit. There is also the uncompromisng sound of the rest of the band to glue it all together and create a masterpiece of a record.

KHz Live at CBGB's:

CBGB's is a strange place. The club wears its ragged history with pride: the exposed pipes and ancient posters speak equally to both permanence as well as inevitable decay. And yes, the bathrooms are as scary as they ever were. The stage is wide for a venue this small and its weathered look makes it all the easier to imagine your favorite rock legends stomping around up there. The sound system is legendary, very loud and very clear which can be a blessing or a curse, depending who is being pushed through those massive cabinets. Tonight, kHz takes the stage: two imposingly built shaven-headed guys on guitar and bass, a leaner long-haired drummer, and a petite, curvaceous long-haired singer. She very politely thanks the audience for coming out and the band proceeds to rip into “Let it go." The singer whose name is Raiana, swivels and grinds to the rhythm in a manner erotic and tough----almost menacing. Her voice is beautiful and she has the technique to use it well. It's clear she could sing in any musical style she wanted, which makes it all the more gratifying when the songs mood switches from pained to furious and she squats down on her haunches to give a low gravelly scream that would impress most death metal fans. This is not just a hot chick whose role is to help sell records she is feeling the words, and you get the impression that she has no choice but to sing them with conviction. When the lead singer is this charismatic and engaging, the other members can either try and compete or just play the songs well and stay out of the way. The men of kHz have chosen the latter, much to their credit. They are not show -- offs, but that does not make them dull. Damon, the drummer, has a wa - Various

Bio

NEW YORK – kHz has begun to unveil its much anticipated album, Reality On A Finer Scale. The record is a journey through much of what’s been misplaced – musically, politically and socially – in this country since the dawn of the new millennium. This is a return to a time when smart lyrics and musical talent mattered more than the all-mighty dollar; and when reality TV sure as hell wasn’t a reality. kHz's music is highly original and groundbreaking - they combine the best of heavy rock music with the heart and emotion of pure melody. This is reality on a finer scale. Reality On A Finer Scale is more than just another heavy rock album. Here, big room tracks like “It’s Yours,” and “Let It Go,” are paired with the gorgeous melodies of “Broken (What Could Have Been,)” and the lush angelic soundscapes of “Alone.” The added bonus multimedia content contained on the disc should be viewed as an extension of the album, as should the recent re-launch of the band’s website www.thekhz.com. These tools provide for the complete kHz experience. At the core of the kHz machine is the group’s singer, Raiana, and Pull, the multi-talented guitarist, keyboardist and programmer. Raiana has a persona much different from that of the ever present “teen female so – called rocker.” She’s the real thing: a burst of explosive energy that bleeds pure pain & honesty with a voice so angelic that you feel guilty about how she makes you feel. The talents of Pull are far reaching. He is responsible for kHz’s entire sound from conception through to the end of the mastering process. Beyond producing kHz, Pull is one of the most highly regarded remixers and sound designers in the business. He is frequently called on by top labels to remix work from some of the biggest artists in the world. His diverse cache of work includes remixes for Shinedown,Everything But The Girl, Rob Thomas, Brandy and Mindless Self Indulgence, just to name a few. Pull also provides original scores to VH1, MTV (including the entire “Driven” series) and Showtime. Even better live than on CD, kHz has received high marks across the country for its energetic live show. To date, kHz has appeared on stage with popular acts like, MDFMK, Hed (pe), DJ Starscream (sid from slipknot),Ampt, Gizmachi, Indexcase, The Creatures, Hooverphonic, Rasputina, Switchblade Symphony and Mindless Self Indulgence (to name a few).
