Bio

Kicking souls formed around 2007 after a lot of frustration from each member being in previous bands. The 2 consistent members, Shawn Hawke and Don Beckett, decided to continue on their own, writing and playing together, as their love of music equaled one another.

Don & Shawn met back in the day! Both played in different bands at the time , but they got to talking about putting their own band together. As dark force’s would have it though, Shawn had personal problems that took a couple years to get through.

By fate they ran into each other through a fellow musician and the two decided to take on the Hamilton music scene joined by a two more members . Once established they did a lot of gigs, and went on a trip to England to play for a few weeks. Of course it wasn't meant to be and Shawn and Don parted from the other two members. From that moment on, Shawn and Don decided to form a Three man band and their search was on for a lasting third member. This proved to be harder than they thought it would be... after trips across Canada and living in cities such as Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto it became difficult to find a steady drummer............

Shawn and Don decided to go to Sarnia and see what could be accomplished there. With frustration and determination Shawn decide to bring in an old friend who shared their passion for music and finally things were a success!!
Sean Rickey, an experienced drummer who enjoys to play and write music, was the missing link Shawn & Don needed ....

With musical influences from The Beatles , led Zeppelin ,Rush, pink Floyd , blues, early punk and yes even Elvis Presley.
The three came up with a sound that would fit the working mans rock with a no nonsense approach, I think if I was asked what would set these three apart from the bands I have seen, I would have to say its the conviction and the honesty in there songs. Too see these guys live is a great experience, its amazing how big they sound for a three piece band.

I thank them for letting me Hear there story and sharing their music with me.
Yours truly
