"Bodog Round Two"

Kickstand finished off the night in grand style, with wonderful song writing skills and a guitarist with a powerful voice. They are definitely a crowd pleaser! - Bodog Music

"Bodog Brings the Battle to Kingston"

"Kickstand was another strong band with good song writing skills. They played three-hook riddled songs that got the crowd listening intently. This talented band will be joining us in the next round."

Bio

Kickstand was formed in early 2003 when Daniel and Gerald came together for a recording project. In this early incarnation of the band, Daniel played guitar, while Gerald handled bass and lead vocal duties. Local musician Brad Marshall played drums in this incarnation.

The band garnered a spot in the 2003 K-Rock Band Slam competition, losing to eventual winners Mystic Caravan. Shortly thereafter, Brad chose to leave the band, leaving Daniel and Gerald with the unenviable task of finding a replacement drummer. During this time, the duo continued to write and record material in hopes of finding a third member to round out the group.

In the summer of 2006, Daniel decided to switch back to drums, with Gerald moving back to guitar. The band began looking for a bass player to round out the trio. After a series of unintentionally comical "auditions," Daniel and Gerald began to give up hope. The answer to their problems was, of course, right under their noses all along.

Enter Lee Casement, bassist for local act Lacklustre (formerly Flood). Just as Kickstand was looking for a bassist, Lacklustre was hanging it up. Lee was an easy fit, and the band is writing, recording and looking for opportunities to enthrall audiences with their energetic live show.
