The Kid Carsons are a dark roux of contemporary folk expression with a lyrical and harmonic focus, dragging elements of Alt Country, Old Time, Bluegrass, Punk, New Roots, and Choral music through dirty New Orleans gutters and deep into the Louisiana swamp.

Biography

Brother-sister duo Chad & Morgan D. Carson grew up playing and writing American music. They still play and write American music. It is 2013 in America.

Hoping that people would want new music in 2013, they formed The Kid Carsons in 2012 to realign the fabric of space-time with their vision of folk expression. As of yet, they have been unable to articulate a text message with all the shade and sentiment of a tear-stained letter, but The Kid Carsons’ sound is one to resonate with the 21st century heart.

Chad and Morgan are joined by lifetime friend and musical accomplice David Hart on drums, banjo, and keys, and together, they plan to make as many records as possible. Along with Oklahoma native and guitar vagrant Josh Joseph & pedal steel heartthrob Derek Duplessie, they recorded their debut EP “Settle Down,” and got in a van.

When they get out of the van, they perform with people like W.B. Givens, Sons of Bill, Toy Soldiers, Shovels & Rope, Jonny Corndawg, Andrew Combs, Juston Stens and the Get Real Gang, The Steep Canyon Rangers, The Little Country Giants, Jordan Hull, The Wheeler Brothers, & Cale Tyson. The Kid Carsons live in New Orleans. The van’s name is Evangeline.
