Biography

In quick time, Kid Champion have proved their undoubted promise and popularity, with radio plays by the BBC’s Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Tom Robinson, as well as a live recording session at the BBC’s Broadcasting House. Kid Champion were requested to support Art Brut at the beginning of 2012 which lead to main support slots for The Cribs and the Vaccines. KC have since performed in Ibiza with the Temper Trap and have toured Germany twice in the last year, building a strong following playing festivals including the Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg, alongside friends Citizens!, Graham Coxon and The View.
What’s more, the band have already been championed by Banquet Records’ Jon Tolley, playing regular shows at his New Slang club night, and the video for “Forgotten What It Feels Like” is a viral hit only a few days after release.

Last single “Forgotten What It Feels Like” is a rascal’s ode to the boudoir, a balls-out but heart-broken rush of adrenaline that will have you singing and thrashing at the same time. Sounding like the Kooks have been given a protein shake and an effects pedal and sent to a strip club, it’ll soon have you humming and strumming along like a true convert.

Lyrics

Forgotten (What It Feels Like)

Written By: Max Walsh

In and out, in and out, a repeating motion,
Is there a man like me, across the shores or out at sea whose right hand man feels alone,

Does anyone else, does anyone else, does anyone else, does anyone else,

Forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like,

In and out, in and out, a repeating motion,
I want a sweet release, from my once flaccid centre-piece and I,
I want it now,

Does anyone else, does anyone else, does anyone else, does anyone else,

Forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like, forgotten what it feels like

Everyday Is A Holiday

Written By: Max Walsh

Killing time, killing time, nothing to do again,
Life's a drag, mum's a nag, pick up a book she says,
Had a job, lost a job, back on my jays again,
Could go out won't go out, I can't seem to find my friends,

Back into the student halls I guess,
Oh everyday is a holiday for them it seems no regrets,
I just want to be educated, just in my own way,

Summer break, Easter break, everyday an earache,
Uni this, uni that, agonising chit chat,
How's the band, yeah not bad, got a CD and that,
Wonderful, what's it called, we haven't decided yet,

Sat at the student bar I bet,
Oh everyday is a holiday for them it seems no regrets,
I just want to be educated, just in my own way,

Oh oh oh oh oh oh x2

Killing time, killing time, nothing to do again,
Life's a drag, mum's a nag, pick up a book she says,
Had a job, lost a job, back on my jays again,
Could go out won't go out, I can't seem to find my friends,

Chuffed about the five grand loans they get,
Oh everyday is a holiday for them it seems no regrets,
I just want to be educated, just in my own way.

Where Did All The Good Men Go

Written By: Max Walsh

Do you know what you are, a bad man a bad life you lead,
I know people like you very well, you laugh at my jokes to keep me by your side,
You had one hand on your heart, and one in my pocket, what made you think that I wouldn't clock it, you ain't so smart

Where did all the good men, where did all the good men go, that's all I want to know
You tell me how my heart beats, you tell me why the earth spins round, but all I want to know, is where did all the good men, where did the good men go

Oh oh, just stick to what you know, I write hits but I haven't got a punch to throw,
You had one hand on your heart, and one in my pocket, what made you think that I wouldn't clock it, you ain't so smart
And when you hear this on the radio, you'll be kicking yourself for wishing you never let go, yeah yeah

Where did all the good men, where did all the good men go, that's all I want to know
You tell me how my heart beats, you tell me why the earth spins round, but all I want to know, is where did all the good men, where did the good men go

You tried your hardest, but you still failed, we've tried all of our lives, and still no luck

Where did all the good men, where did all the good men go, that's all I want to know
You tell me how my heart beats, you tell me that the earth spins round my head, oh, where did the good men go
