"The London Lite Review"

This Twickenham-based, post-punk trio have more hooks than a tackle shop. If you're a fan of XTC, you'll probably fall hook line and sinker. - The London Lite

"BBC Radio Airplay and Review"

"No trendy nonsense"! That's what Kid Champion have to say about their endearing mish mash of a sound, but we suggest you hang onto these boy's coat tales as they riot through a venue near you. With influences stemming from XTC to The Smiths, Kid Champion are certainly smarter than your average motley crew looking for a record deal. Unafraid to entwine jangly jazz chords with thrashing rock-out choruses, this is a trio of risk takers and we applaud them. Together just eighteen months, the band have already been in the studio for the past year recording their, as yet unreleased, debut record. Alongside co-producer Jon Moon, best known for his work with Amy Winehouse, The Kooks and Buzzcocks, Kid Champion have a lot to be smiling about and so do we if the demo is anything to go by. - Gary Crowely - BBC Radio 1 DJ

Bio

In quick time, Kid Champion have proved their undoubted promise and popularity, with radio plays by the BBC’s Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Tom Robinson, as well as a live recording session at the BBC’s Broadcasting House. Kid Champion were requested to support Art Brut at the beginning of 2012 which lead to main support slots for The Cribs and the Vaccines. KC have since performed in Ibiza with the Temper Trap and have toured Germany twice in the last year, building a strong following playing festivals including the Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg, alongside friends Citizens!, Graham Coxon and The View.
What’s more, the band have already been championed by Banquet Records’ Jon Tolley, playing regular shows at his New Slang club night, and the video for “Forgotten What It Feels Like” is a viral hit only a few days after release.

“Great sound, great talent, refreshing music and lyrics” - Jon Moon (Producer Amy Winehouse, The Kooks, Kings of Leon)

“These guys need big gigs and festival exposure!” - Gary Powell, The Libertines

‘Found these guys at the indie record label market in Soho, what a find!” - Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music

Last single “Forgotten What It Feels Like” is a rascal’s ode to the boudoir, a balls-out but heart-broken rush of adrenaline that will have you singing and thrashing at the same time. Sounding like the Kooks have been given a protein shake and an effects pedal and sent to a strip club, it’ll soon have you humming and strumming along like a true convert.
