Kid Christ

My name is Cameo and I go by stage name "Kid Christ." I was born in Joliet, IL and raised in Bolingbrook, IL. After high school, I moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where I met and married my wife Vickeia Mayweather. I have been writing music since 2002 but I have been influenced by it since forever. Some of my favorite influences are Kanye West, Ne-yo, Lil Wayne, Talib Kweli, Common, Slick Rick, Keyshia Cole, Brian Mcknight, Usher, Michael Jackson, etc. When I got saved and came into the gospel world my influences became artists like Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Deitrick Haddon, Canton Jones, Keke Sheard, Karen Clark, Tye Tribbett, Icris, Beacon Light, Corey Ellis, Marvin Winans Jr., George Moss, His Heir, etc. I think what sets me apart from other bands is my outlook and sound. I carry myself in a different way from a lot of other bands and my music has a little bit of a different swagger than a lot of other artists out there. All in all, I try to deliver God's message in a way that is both entertaining and inspiring enough to change lives. If it doesn't, then it should impact enough that you will just enjoy listening!!!
