Bio

Kidd Thompson Grew up on the streets of Chicago where early on in life he developed an insatiable hunger for music. He showed interest in all forms of music but when it came to the metal genres he found a true calling. The heavier and faster the tempo the more he craved it. Commanding the bass in the rock and metal genres particularly “Thrash” has made Kidd a truly note worthy bassist.

After relocating to Kenosha, WI in early 2000 Kidd started honing his craft by playing bass for a metal band named Fatal Error which was a pre Lazarus A.D. Feeling the need to return to Chicago Kidd ultimately parted ways with Fatal Error and moved back to the windy city. He then played and recorded with metal bands such as Sacrament of the Sick and One Below Nothing. Still not finding the perfect fit Kidd moved yet again to Michigan where he came across thrash veterans Vindicator located in South Amherst, Ohio. He was welcomed with open arms and started recording and touring with Vindicator. Late on in 2010 Kidd parted ways with Vindicator in hopes of finding a new and fresh place in the music world. Once again and the final time returning to Chicago to find that fit.

Auditioning and jamming with various new local projects and declining many offers to join, Kidd had found an ad for a new rock band by the name of Dylan Dog with heavy rock and metal influences yet a very marketable tone. He Then decided to give it a try and see if there was chemistry. After meeting Kidd had strong feelings that this new band was going to be a great fit for him and quickly joined. Dylan Dog continues to play Midwest venues and build a fan base with a new album in the works and hopes of a tour in the beginning of early 2012. Dylan Dog having their metal roots and distinct rock sound is working very hard to find the perfect places to showcase the bands edgy tones and hard Chicago attitude. Kidd helps lead this new music endeavor with pride and the knowledge that he has finally found his musical home right in his hometown of Chicago where his love of all things music and bass began!

Kidd’s finds inspiration in every aspect of his life to pull from for his song writing and playing weather it be his son who is his biggest influence or listening to some of his favorite bassist’s such as; The Late Cliff Burton, Geezer Butler, Blasko, Rob Trujillo, Steve Harris, or any number of the great artists that play with true conviction and heart. Kidd continues to learn more about his craft every day in hopes of finally becoming one of the future Master Bassists of his time.
