"Bass Feeds The Soul names Kids Like Us & Beak Nasty THEE local act to see at Summer Set Music Festival"

Before I head to any music festival, I always like to check out some of the names I’ve never heard of before. It was when I was doing this that I stumbled across Kids Like Us from Summer Set’s lineup. With only a few hundred followers on soundcloud, this group is definitely a hidden gem. The moment I pressed play the Kids Like Us grew on me. The group spits lyrically genius rhymes, with catchy beats that you can’t help but nod your head to. The unsigned group consists of three vocalists, including Lizzie Fontaine who adds a nice twist with soft female vocals, a drummer, and a producer. The group hails from just 45 minutes outside of the festival, being thee local act to catch this year at Summer Set! - Bass Feeds The Soul

Bio

Kids Like Us is composed of a family of three musicians, Sam Wayne, Eli
Fhima, and Lizzie Fontaine as a featured vocalist. Mixing Lizzie's
soulful and jazzy sound with Sam and Eli's dark/conscious lyrical images
and quick-witted rhythmic flow is a recipe for expressive, moving, and
head bouncing hip-hop.

Beak Nasty (Ryland Sabien) is a 20 year old
multi-instrumentalist/producer/DJ that combines the sounds of hip hop
and intense bass lines to create futuristic chill funk/electro soul
music. When he moved out of his small Wisconsin hometown at age 16, he
immediately got involved with the Minneapolis hip hop scene by producing
and DJing for the likes of Kids Like Us, Allan Kingdom, and many
others. At age 17, he began attending McNally Smith College of Music and
performed nearly every stage in Minnesota whether it be DJing for
emcees or doing his own thing entirely. He quickly rose up the ranks in
the local scene, and it was not long until he began working full time on
his solo career releasing an album every year since 2011. Shorty after
the release of his third album "Chill Funk Files Vol. 1" in July 2013,
Beak Nasty combined forces with Florida percussionist Foxy Dope (Phil
Ade) and together they have gotten booked all over the midwest from
small venues to large festivals. This quickly gained them a regional fan
base which has lead to a global presence in the music industry.
