Bio

Kids Eat Crayons is a collective of seven trained musicians who found themselves dissatisfied with the pedantic nature of the serious music they had been studying. Initially designed as a project to fuse their shared passions for acoustic jazz and thrash metal, Kids Eat Crayons quickly evolved into something bigger, something groundbreaking. While setting the foundation down with the aforementioned styles, they decided to throw caution to the wind and mix in elements of any style that had influenced them, including contemporary classical, classic rock, Afro-Cuban, post-hardcore, American folk, drum n bass, reggae and too many others to mention, all filtered through experimental pop-song-structures and infused with punk energy. The highly original music is complemented by highly original lyrics, largely inspired by the 20th Century absurdist tradition. Because of the members diversity, and their open, forward thinking nature, these disparate elements come together organically to make exciting, new, strangely accessible, pure music.
