Bio

Kids of Comets pride themselves on doing their own thing and doing it well. Getting lost in the cluttered landscape of the current music scene seems unrealistic with the way this band rocks. They will rock you, sing you to sleep, seduce you, please you, and rock you again. Coming to a stereo near you, their newly released EP “I Think I’ll Like It Here” features socks-off rocking riffs, a busy rhythm section, and soothing vocals that combine to form an atmospheric sound that is completely their own.

This five-piece consists of Preston Villavicencio (Dorian Gray) on drums, Kyle Knight (Dorian Gray) and Eric Heggernes (Ekoflo) on guitar, bassist Matt Greeninger (Dorian Gray), and vocalist Tommy Zimborski (Ekoflo). Every member of the band contributes to the fullness of their wall of sound in their own unique way. The rhythmically vibrant drums coupled with dynamic bass grooves form the foundation for the rest of the ear-pleasing melodies and harmonies to fill in.

Every piece of the band fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, but more like an ever-changing puzzle. Their dynamic sound leaves no ears unaware of its constantly evolving presence. From the fist-pumping and head-bobbing temptation that is “There You Go”, to the tender, yet graceful daydream inducing sounds of “Shangri-La,” these guys make A.D.D. seem artful.

Their polished sound doesn’t seem to compute with the fact that this band is less than a year old, forming in the spring of 2011. But, they have been making some noise in the Minneapolis music scene with airplay on Radio K, and receiving airplay on W3RD (internet) Radio has also helped to boost their online presence as a band.

Kids of Comets will continue to make their presence known and keep knocking on the door of the twin cities music scene. Pick up their debut EP “I Think I’ll Like It Here” and keep your eyes peeled for their captivating live shows that transport you to another world full of high energy and melodic bliss.
