Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
Hey! My name is KiiD Artist and I’m from Redlands, California. I’m a senior in high school (#Classof2013) and I’m a Fresh KiiD as long as I live. I love girls, music, food, and girls (laughs). Nah but seriously, I’ve been doing the music thing since I was about 4, although I didn’t really start getting serious about things until about 2 years ago.
Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
I actually wasn’t sure which track to release as my official single. It was between Chasing Dreams (which is a fan favorite) and Music is my Soul. I really wanted my first single to grab people’s attention though and I felt that Music is my Soul is different and very catchy
I worked really hard writing this track and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
I’m new to the industry so I’m not sure what challenges I have ahead, but I know growing up it was hard trying to find supporters and people that love me for me.
What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
I was in a group (shaking my head). Even though it was cool, I felt like I was headed in the wrong direction. I’m young, fresh, and ready to live.
What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Sounding or looking like somebody else. I think a lot of artists write about stuff they think people want to hear instead of writing of what they know. Live the life you love, love the life you live.
What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Chase your dreams and work hard. Put in the extra time to push yourself because at the end of the day you are your best promoter and hit the studio or connect with your fans and let them know how much you appreciate their support.
What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
I love approaching people on the street or at school and also talking to my fans late night on Twitter and Facebook and I just recently did a few autograph signings and those were cool too.

I met this kid this morning online on twitter. He goes by @KiidArtist on twitter and as artist name. You already know that anyone I interview or interact with in the early stages of their music career GOT BIG! The magic touch is on again as KIIDARTIST reached out to me in Nigeria at 6am his time in America, 11am here. Stephan Reed is from Redlands in the USA. I lived in the US 30 years and Canada 5, plus I have now returned home 8 mos and discovering so much global talent.
