Bio

Kijana Crues is an artist whose jazzy, Neo-Soul, smooth sound touches the soul, while her lyrics tell stories about life, love, heartache, and God’s Love. Her music crosses many genres, but her roots began with Gospel, Jazz, and Blues.

Kijana is based in Rochester, NY. She formerly sang in the 2019 Roc Awards-nominated band, “Royal Flow”, before launching her own solo career. She has performed at numerous festivals and events including the City of Rochester’s 4th of July Fireworks Celebration as well as the Annual Rochester Summer Soul Festival where she had the opportunity to perform on multiple stages, including performing with the opening band for the event’s national headliners.

In addition to gaining attention as a solo artist, Kijana has also built up a resume singing and acting in both stage plays and on film. She took part in “Mae Hit the Number” and the Roc Award-nominated play “After the Hustle” by Janet Baxter. She was also in “RED...That Other Color Girl” by Grace Flores. Her film credits include a lead role in the inspirational film, Lilly the Movie, by Kre8tor, and also a feature in the music video, “I Believe” by National Recording Artist, LaShanda McCadney.

God has been opening so many doors for Kijana. Recently, she was blessed to be nominated as one of the Top 5 “Best Female Vocalist Of The Year” in the 2020 ROC Awards. Her original song, “Beautiful Specimen”, is being played regularly on 100.9 FM WXIR. Not only was Kijana brought on as the sound engineer to the “Inspirational Experience: Freedom Fridays” radio show with Rudolph Valentino and Ebony Nicole-Smith, but she also just landed her own radio show with 100.9 WXIR called “Vibe Out with Kijana” where she plays Jazz, Blues, and Soul Music and also focuses on the arts and ways to give back to the community.

After being diagnosed in 2018 with Stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, as of January 2019, Kijana was officially declared a CANCER SURVIVOR and CANCER FREE!!! She made a promise to God that if he brought her through that experience, she would chase her dreams with everything in her! Since being declared CANCER FREE, she has been doing just that and God is continuing to open doors for her to step through! She will continue to praise the Lord in everything that she does and will continue to follow the path HE has laid for her.
