Feeling a bit camera shy

Who is "Kilifax"? Well, it all depends on the time of day. If you walk up Lafayette Street past Chinatown into SoHo some morning, chances are you'll spot guitarist/singer Hal Ruzal seemingly hard at work in the local bike shop where he's the resident head mechanic. Wait around a bit and you might get sideswiped by bassist/singer Davy O'Day when he drops by between bike messenger jobs. Later on, you might have to dodge drummer Hens, moseying on over from Penn Station after finishing his day job working for the man.

At night it's a different story. This anarchic punk-infected garage rock trio began rehearsing together in 2001 and has been uncorking hard-driving sets at places like CBGB and the Continental. Avid believers in spontaneous, unmessed-with, straight-ahead production, Kilifax is dedicated to making music that's meant to be consumed live and direct, and heard loud and clear over the clank and din of all those construction crews, garbage trucks, and rumbling trains that keep you up at night anyway.
