Darryl King, A.K.A. Killa King

was born and raised in the Robert Taylor Projects of Chicago. It was there that he learned how to survive the mean streets by hustling and gang bangin. Like most kids his age, Who were frustrated by the effects of being victims of the ghetto, king resorted to selling drugs to support himself and his family. At age 16, he had his first child, a baby girl which he names Whitney. This new addition to his life prompted him to take his focus off of the street-life and place it on his seed. As a result of his lack of attention to the gang King began feuding with members who refused to understand what it meant to be a father. At age 18, King enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served aboard the U.S.S. Missouri. After returning home after three year stint in the military, one of King's friends was murdered. Due to a need for restition, Killa was once again consumed by the streets and, as a result of his relentless display of revenge, Darryl earned the moniker "Killa King". From that point King took everything that he had learned from the streets and used it to breath life into his music.

Nowadays, King uses his experiences to be somewhat of a member to neighborhood youngsters who frequently run the same blocks that he once held down. King is no longer involved in the activities of the gang, but continues to show love, both on the streets, and in his music.
