Killed By Design

Killed By Design

BandAlternativeRock

Anthemic rock with big choruses, catchy riffs, thunderous grooves, and clever programming. Male vocal in the vein of Soundgarden with the urgency of Muse. Add in a little AIC and you'd have Killed By Design.

Biography

The LA-based rock trio Killed By Design consists of vocalist Kyle Spicer, bassist Billy Jones and drummer David Spreng. Jones and Spreng met while living in Boston - both coming up in the Boston music scene, while Spicer was doing the same in Los Angeles. The three became friends while working on a different project in 2006.

The group's passion for creating driving beats and clever harmony while boasting big vocals surrounded by lush guitars provides their unique and cinematic sound. After months of collaborating in their 2nd North Hollywood rehearsal space, after the 1st one burned to the ground, they have released the first of many EP's to be released this year.

Upon the completion of recording, longtime friend Bryce Martin was asked to fill the guitar slot. He adds enthusiastic textures and booming guitars to the mix creating a back-and-forth synergy within the band.

Their debut EP titled "Occulta Veritas", was produced by David Spreng, and mixed by Ken Andrews.

Released as an opening statement rather than an unyielding sonic identity, Occulta Veritas is a distinctive introduction to the band, and a well-crafted preview of things to come.

Lyrics

Get Out Alive

Written By: William K Jones III, David Spreng, Kyle Spicer

V1
It's up to you
To give or not, it's all on you
Am I getting through?
You should've known better long ago

It's up to you
Well, certainly not enough, oh well
A partial view
Cluttered by hope that we built ourselves

Chorus
Set out across the open air
Get out alive and go from there
Set out across the open air
Get out alive and go

V2
It's up to you (it's up to you)
We're down and out and faded through
A common view
We should've known better long ago
It's up to you to how long you have until you cave in
Oh yeah
Another blind, hopeful slave to the man

Chorus
Set out across the open air
Get out alive and go from there
Set out across the open air
Get out alive and go

Won't Change

Written By: William K. Jones III, David Spreng, Kyle Spicer

V1
No one can hear you
No one can see you
Lost in another’s dream
Where nothing’s real

Love fades and dreamers fall
Won’t change anything at all

Forget what you regret
To save me from the fear
of places I won’t be

Even in my darkest moment

Chorus:
I will not go
Don’t wanna let it slide
I’m holding on
To all the troubles I find
I won’t let go
Don’t wanna cross that line
I’m holding on
Not gonna change my mind
Cause I’m just

V2
Don’t say it’s over
It’s just ready to begin
I’ll live the answers
I’m better off this way

No second chances
That won’t change anything at all
I’ve waited so long
Please save me from my fear
Of losing everything

Even in my darkest moment

Chorus:
I will not go
Don’t wanna let it slide
I’m holding on
To all the troubles I find
I won’t let go
Don’t wanna cross that line
I’m holding on
Not gonna change my mind
Cause I’m just fine

I Want The World

Written By: William K Jones III, David Spreng, Kyle Spicer

V1
Time to run
Every second counting down
Come and go
We’ve worried until now
We’re sold the things we ought to know
But we can’t afford to win

Chorus:
I Want The World
The World Don’t Want Me
I Want The World
The World Don’t Care
I Want The World
The World Don’t Want Me

V2
From a dream
I believed in everything
Like a scene
Played out in front of me
All told we’re weakest at the seams, unreal
Now we can’t afford to lose

Chorus:
I Want The World
The World Don’t Want Me
I Want The World
The World Don’t Care
I Want The World
The World Don’t Want Me

I Want the world
Should I even care
