""This is a band to keep your eye on.""

"The buzz is loud and noisy"

“a one-two punch that is as exciting onstage as they are on record. …has been making its way to the desks of some big wigs in the record biz, and the buzz is loud and noisy.” (Maximum Ink) - Maximum Ink

"Best ingested through live performance."

"Although based in Milwaukee, the rock trio NUNA considers Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit home turf. Relentless touring and recording with the likes of Mike Hoffmann have given this band good status throughout the region. Elements of garage, punk and radio-rock are washed over with a grunge approach. The band is often compared to Nirvana because of the way lead man Nuna growls out vocals through a tangle of hair while in a Cobain-esque stance. ... the group’s driving beats take early-‘90s grunge into the present day. Their latest, Famous In Another Dimension, is a well-recorded documentation of the band’s style, with songs that could easily cross over into the pop-rock market, although NUNA is one of those bands best ingested through live performance." "Milwaukee Rockers Best of the Lot"

What began as a contest involving more than 700 bands from around the country as well as from Russia, Europe, South America, Australia and Africa ended with a panel of judges proclaiming Milwaukee rockers NUNA the best of the lot. On the basis of two songs from the band’s debut CD Headcase along with one unreleased song, NUNA advanced to the semifinals of AIDSROCK OHIO in Columbus, OH. Judges that narrowed the field included music producers, people from The Recording Academy, A&R representatives and radio programmers.

Bio

Killing Dick Phefer comes to life from the bands NUNA, Goulash, Guido's Racecar and The Bugs. From the fertile, sometimes troubled mind of Nuna come explosive songs about pain and loss and love and life. If his music were an image it may be of Butterflies and Razorblades. Anya adds a sexy look and definitely melodic flowing bassline to the songs. Mark's orchestral playing keeps the band well grounded at times and other times allows it to fly. Lane's groove drumming allows Nuna to come back down safely after his many excursions. The band is eagerly awaiting the premiere of the movie "Brutal", which Nuna wrote, directed and edited, in October of 2008. The movie, which the band has provided the soundtrack, has attracted Hollywood attention.

Accomplishments include being chosen to participate at well heeled events including M.E.A.N.Y in New York City along with separate shows at CBGBs and the Continental, the famous Uptown Bar in Minneapolis, an invitation to perform at the Independent Music Conference in Philadelphia, a semi-finalist in the Demo Review and Panel and Contest - Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy and received several recording label and production deal offers.

Travels have included some of the premier clubs and festivals in New York City (CBGBs, Continental), Chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Lansing, Columbus, throughout Wisconsin and many spots in between.

While in the band NUNA, Nuna and Anya had a number of sitdowns with major label A&R reps including a deal nixed at the last minute when the label was purchased and the A&R rep fired.

Last count had 8 songs making it to radio.
