Killing Karma

BandRockPop

Rock for a new generation Moody, agressive, thought provoking, high energy, melodic rock.

Biography

Killing Karma is Rock for a New Generation. A moody, aggressive and thought provoking roller coaster ride of emotion.

Killing Karma has a diverse sound with harmonies reminiscent of Alice in Chains. Think Incubus, Nickelback, and Stone Temple Pilots, but add two dynamic, unique lead vocalists.

Gina Dowling has the emotion of Janis Joplin with the resonance of Pat Benetar meets Alanis Morissette. Steve Forss has the range of Robert Plant, the texture of Layne Staley and the intense drive of Chris Cornell.

Extract all these qualities and add the talent, experience and drive of Joel Dowling, bass & vocals; Scott Maxwell, lead guitar and Scott Hoffman, drums & vocals; along with Gina Dowling on vocals & keyboards and Steve Forss with vocals & guitar….. and you get Rock for a New Generation!

Killing Karma is touring in support of their first cd , Broken Promises, and had the privilege of opening up for a show on the Saliva Jagermeister music tour. They are currently writing and recording songs for their second CD to be released in summer of 2004.
The band is sponsored by Jagermeister & GHS strings.

Lyrics

Rose Colored Glasses

Written By: Gina Dowling

Rose Colored Glasses
Verse:
Drowning the memories
Days left behind
Through rose colored glasses
Tears subside
In one more glass of wine
One more swallow and it’ll be fine

Chorus:
Can you feel it
Can you taste it
Can you touch me

Verse:
Stimulating all my senses
Your instigating my desires
I force myself into another state of reality
I can’t escape from your sexuality

Chorus:
Can you feel it
Can you tasete it
Can you touch me

Verse:
Afraid of myself
Sickened by my hunger
Wipe the sweat from inside of me
I’m aching to feel you again
I’m hungry to taste the sin
Holding back from temptation
Only cure is masturbation

Chorus:
Can you feel it
Can you taste it
Can you touch me

Solo:
Verse:
Molding the memories that make up our past
Through rose colored glasses tears subside
In one more glass of wine
One more swallow and it’ll be fine

Chorus:
Can you feel it
Can you taste it
You can touch me

Wicked

Written By: Gina Dowling

Wicked
Verse:
Thought I knew you
Now I’ve seen the real you
Hanted by the memories
False sense of security

Chorus:
Wicked are the ways
You manipulate the ones you love

Verse:
Surrender myself too many times
All rhyme, no reason
Words mean nothing
Selfish motivation

Chorus:
Wicked are the ways
You manipulate the ones you love
Wicked are the ways
Darkness closes in
Cast the shadow

Break:
Why are things so complicated
I think loves just overrated
Why are things so complicated
In the end it’s you I hated
(guitar solo)

Vicious attacks tear my world apart
Crumbling walls around me
You can’t control me

Chorus:
Wicked are the ways
You manipulate the ones you love
Wicked are the ways
Darkness closes in
Cast the shadow

Break:
Why are things so complicated
I think loves just overrated
Why are things so complicated
In the end it’s you I hated

Still Alive

Written By: Gina Dowling

Still Alive
Verse:
Bit my tongue again just so words won’t come out
Held my breath so long
I thought that I’d pass out
Dug my fingernails deep in to control the anger raging within

Chorus:
Alone the silence is deafening
All I hear is the sound of my breath
That’s good, it reminds me
I’m still alive

Verse:
I cannot breathe
Escape until you leave
My skin crawls when you touch me
Your breath melts away my innocence
Did you think it was okay

Chorus:
Alone the silence is deafening
All I hear is the sound of my breath
That’s good, it reminds me
I’m still alive

Verse:
Desperate to taste the wine
Who cares how sour the fruit has become
I’m overpowered by my sense of shame
Adrenaline pumpin, my hearts thumpin
Afraid of the darkness and what it brings
Your every move pushes me
Closer to revenge

Chorus:
Alone the silence is deafening
All I hear is the sound of my breath
That’s good, it reminds me
I’m still alive

Solo: Chorus
